I don’t think I will return to this hotel again. There are many choices of hotels in Tokyo. I booked this hotel just because of the budget. We didn’t have any expectation though. The hotel lobby is very small and old and so is the room. When I entered the room, it smelled strange odor. The bed is not comfortable,... More

I mean the Dolphin from A Wild Sheep Chase... OK, it was sold as 'breakfast included'. Breakfast comprised of salad, yoghurt, toast and coffee. That was it. Every day. The room needed updating badly. The decor was worn and old, and the places just needed a good top to bottom clean. Not obviously dirty, but just needed all the nooks... More

The staff are very friendly and helpful. They spoke good English and appriciated our attempts at Japanese. The rooms were small but large enough to be comfortable. If you want a more spacious room then you will need to pay more and go to another hotel. The location was great. A few minutes walk from the station which our jr... More

Hotel is 5 minutes walk from Ikebukuro Station - West Exit. If you take the subway/underground pass, then go out at Exit C6. The hotel itself is a bit hard to find because the sign is not very clearly visible from the main road due to electrical wires but it is located on the Tourist Information Maps that are available... Staying in Ikebukuro

Neighborhood Profile
Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.
