It was my first hostel experience in Japan and it's still the nicest one so far. Even though the staff changed over the years, everyone was always helpful and friendly. It always felt like coming home to the Khaosan Samurai. The facilities are not fancy but they have everything a traveler needs. Little bit tricky for tall people because there... More

Loved this area, we were a 5 minute walk to the closest subway so anywhere was essentially accessible. The hostel was clean, tidy but small. our stay was fantastic due to the staff and the other people staying in the hostel. Wifi is not very good, but didn't need it as had plenty of other things to do. The hostel... More

Asakusa as an area is an ok area to stay in, and evendough the hostel is on the wrong side of the river the location isn't too bad. Still 30 minuitt train ride to get to Shibuya / Shinjuku area just so you have that in mind.. I would not stay at this hostel again, it really smells.. We tried... More

We stayed here twice in 1 week. Its in a great location, easy to find using their instructions. Really close to Senji temple and market, Asahi building and river. Staff are really nice, they have fun dress up clothes in reception. Room was very basic but comfortable. They have loads of good info on reception. The WiFi isn't good in... More

When backpacking and travelling on a budget, you can't be too picky when it comes to where to stay. To be honest, I wished that I spent a few $ extra and checked in at another place. The hostel is located across the bridge from two train stations. It's about a 15 minute walk to get there and it is... More

I have been there for 1 week and everything was perfect. The room, kitchen and common area were very clean. The reception services was nice and it was located in a good area near to main avenues and temples.

This hostel is great, super clean and super amazing staff who help you with everything you need. Toilets and showers are spotless and maintained regularly. Rooms are spacious and have good AC. Location is great for Tokyo for this price, stations are close by, just a short walk over the bridge. They also put out little flags of where the... More

My first impression was this hostel was really quiet. I guess it was that signage outside that asks all the guest to tone down noise levels because they have been getting complaints from their neighbors. Compared to its fun filled sister Khaosan World, Samurai is very laid back. I did not see a lot of guests loitering around aside from... More

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is good: 8 minute walk to Asakusa station (with good connections and tranfers by (JR)train and subway) and the nice Asakusa neighbourhood. We had the small private room which is real small, but has airconditioning.
