It was the first hotel we stayed in on our 15 day trip across Japan. I couldn't have chosen a better hotel for it. We had a bit of difficulty looking for it as we arrived at night time and I guess the maps we got were a bit confusing. Thankfully, this Japanese guy who was jogging helped us out... More

In terms of size, this is typical for Tokyo, small but adequate. The hallways are a little institutional in appearance. What I found was disappointing was the cleanliness of the room. Tea stains in the kitchenette, stains on the bathroom door and wall.

With reference to most of the positive reviews posted, this hotel did not disappoint at all! This is our 1st visit to Tokyo and we spent 5 nights at this hotel. The rooms are clean and adequately equipped, including microwave, hot plate, fridge, tv & room wi-fi access. Shower water pressure is very good and water heater effective. The split... More

This is a much older property compared to most of the Mystays properties I have stayed in. Reception was pleasant and helpful. The only rooms available were smoking rooms. Being a non-smoker I made liberal use of the air spray and opened the window as much as I can to let the fresh air in. I couldn't keep the window... More

The room was comfortable, people very kind and the hotel situation is perfect to visit Tokyo center or Tokyo megalopole. Price was very low for such a nica and comfortable stay. Tea is free, nice and clean rooms, good bed.

If you manage to get a super deal price wise MyStays Asakusa might be OK if you are looking for a simple accommodation in the Sumida area, but be prepared to get a tiny room not properly cleaned with a high constant noise from the intersection just on the corner outside of the hotel. First of all, I recommend booking through their website rather than third party websites such as booking.com because it ended up being cheaper. We saved 6,000 yen from doing so as they have package deals that you can choose from. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from JR Ryogoku station or a 5 minute walk to Kuramae subway station.... More
