This was the second time I have stayed at Hotel Tateshina, and I will absoloutely stay again. It's not the Ritz, but you get what you pay for. A compfy room, hospitable staff and conveniently placed in the heart of Shinjuku. Being so close to JR station at this cost was perfect! Made for easy travel.
