As most Tokyo hotels, IBIS is very small but it´s ok for a trip that you´ll spend more time outside. The bed is confortable, the toilet warm and fine. Location is great, just in the center of Shinjuku, walking distance from Shinjuku Station. The bad thing is the breakfast, you´ll get a boiled egg and a bread, coffe and milk,... More

This hotel represents pretty good value in a generally expensive neighbourhood. The location is excellent - a couple of minutes walk from the station. The lobby is brand new and funky but don't expect the same for the rooms which are much more run down. As with any Japanese business hotel the rooms are very tiny - but its just... More

Knowing that Tokyo hotels tends to small and cramp, I wasn't expecting a 5star stay in ibis Shinjuku. As an Advantage Plus Platinum member, room was upgraded upon checked in which I was pleasntly surprised. Though it was a no frill room, evry needed was there. The front desk lady was commendable as she was very helpful, polite and went... More

Booked this hotel at the last minute due to a booking confusion. They were helpful and the rooms were clean and quiet. The location is really good and close to the station and the shopping nearby. A short walk to underground metro and the limo bus service terminal to the airports. Some authentic restaurants and some western restaurants also close... More

Do not expect it is a comfortable room, it rather small but enough for people that going the area for shopping. But still clean enough to stay. Toilet is still clean, with the shower foam and shampoo is nice as well as the deep bath tub is good also. :)

Stayed here recently with a friend of mine. Location is fantastic, right by Shinjuku station and across the street from the great Omoide Yokocho area. Rooms are comfy though small (but, it's Japan after all) I've stayed at another Ibis property in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and this was very similar. Enjoyed the stay and if you're looking for a budget... More

The location is what makes this such a great hotel, located in Tokyo's shinjuku it is in the heart of a great neighborhood. This hotel is very easy to get to for Narita airport being located right across from the Shinjuku train station. Simply take the Narita express train from Narita airport directly to Shinjuku station with a momentary stop... More

I thoroughly enjoyed the stay at Ibis in Tokyo. The rooms were simple but clean and functional. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The morning breakfast was delicious. The location was excellent, so close to Shinjuku Train Station. Highly recommended, would stay here again.

The Hotel said they recognized the early arrival time, but did not.If I knew they were going to be that way,I would have booked a different hotel. We needed our sleep,& this set our trip on the wrong footing that we were avoiding. They knew we wanted to check in early.

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighborhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
