My son and I stayed 7 nights in total - I was there to run the marathon on February 22. From the moment we stepped off the Hyatt Regency bus from stop #35 on the west side of Shinjuku station we were totally taken care of. The staff with their excellent english and caring way made us feel more than... More

Beautiful lounge, great restaurants (4), coffee shop, cozy fitness & a nice pool. Awesome room service, very clean, yummy breakfast included & an incredible fun neighborhood. Ten minutes walk f/ Shinjuku Station, two stops to Harajuku & Shibuya. Shuttle available to & f/ the station to the Hotel - every 20 minutes, English is understood by most of the staff.... More

Great location across the street from a subway stop and a short walk to the main Shinjuku station which has connections to a bunch of local trains as well as the bullet trains. We stayed in two other neighborhoods but Shinjiku was by far the most fun. Lots of great food and the bustle of the city. We stayed on... More

It had been a pleasant stay to experience things in this hotel. The location is pretty near to Shinjuku JR Station. You can walk about 10 minutes through the station underground or simply take the free shuttle bus which provided by the hotel. Room and bathroom is quite okay, though they look a bit old - they are clean and... More

I stayed at the hotel for 4 days in February. It's true that it's not as "shiny" or new as it must have been during its heydays. But the service you get here is simply the best. The staff are very well trained- from the bellhops to the concierge to the front desk to the restaurant. I couldn't find 1... More

I'm hyatt platinum member so just served the free in-room wifi. Overall the hotel has great location- just besides the tokyo government building. The room is clean as always. It is good choice if the price is reasonable.

First time stay at this hotel and location is in the business distinct but had shuttle bus connect to the Shinjiku main station. Actually walking is also only 10 mins so is not that bad. There is also another metro station right below the hotel but not on the main line. There is a big park right next to the... More

There is a lot to do in this area and its close to lots of transportation, but the hotel itself feels desperately in need of an update. Aesthetically and technologically, the hotel feels like it was state-of-the-art in 1980, but hasn't kept up with the times. Lots of beige tile outside and earth tones inside. Its not dirty, in fact... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighborhood Profile
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
