I think that this hotel gets away with a lot simply because it is in a brilliant location, minutes from Shinjuku station, and in a city like Tokyo you tend not to spend much time in your hotel room. My room was small, as I had expected, but the grey industrial paint & junk shop furniture decor, (which I think... More

I'll admit, I was shocked at how small it was when I first arrived. But after a day or two it kind of grew on me. Not giving more than 3 stars because my room smelled badly of smoke and it's supposed to be a non smoking hotel - after a day of keeping the window open it went away... More

Don't expect luxury, but this place is quite convenient to stay and not too expensive. 5 minutes walk from Shinjuku station, you can find an exit beside the Takashimaya tower, or go directly to the South-East gate, just few more minutes walk. For the long stays, I always booked this place, they offer bit lower price than short staying, you... More

Quiet neighborhood area but located right opp Takashimaya Shinjuku, close to everything. One of the best location. Easy to navigate around the area as well. Kind staff and clean room. Great value for the service and location!

Apartment Hotel Shinjuku is such a wonderful place to stay. It is close to everything, very central, and the place is so lovely. There is a vintage boutique inside the hotel, which is super cool, the decoration is in the same vintagy-vibe. The staff is helpful and really nice, my heater didn't work well in my allocated room, I reported... More

Comfortable. Great value for your money. Close to everything (restaurants, train stations, shopping malls, theaters, etc..) and kind staff. They give your fresh towels everyday that hangs on your door. they provide shampoo & conditionair plus body soap. You also get the fast wifi. Overall great experience. Small room and washroom, but we were able to fit since it was... More

Like the title says, it's a good enough place to lay down for the night or anytime during the day while you enjoy the rest of the city. Warning to Westerners these are small in comparison to your usual lodging, so don't expect a lot of room to bask and enjoy the amenities in. It's worth the money you pay,... More

This hotel is in a fantastic location just 5 minute walk from the south / south east exit of shinjukuju station. It's in a super cool building and doubles as an antique shop so you are surrounded by awesome old artefacts downstairs and up the staircase. For the quirkiness and location it is great value for money and much cheaper... More

Rooms are quite simple, yet functional. It is about 5-7 minutes from the Fukutoshin Line, so it's quite convenient. What impressed me about this hotel is that the rooms have a kitchenette! Nice touch!

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighborhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
