If you're in a tight budget its ok to stay in this hotel, surely not a luxury place to stay. The rooms are very very small , tight enough to walk thru. its clean and bathrooms are ok. From the airport its best to ride a bus but you will have to walk at least 10 mins to the place.... More

We were all really pleased with this hotel. Like the rest of the hotels in Tokyo, a little on the small side but it was the best one of the best nights sleep we had in our entire stay in Japan. The beds were extremely comfy especially the pillows which offer additional neck support. We ate in the restaurant one... More

This hotel's best point is its location, though it is not easy to find it for the first try. Also it is relative cheap compared the rest of the hotels in that area. Rooms are average, however the bathroom stinks a bit - probably its ventilation is not good. We also found some paper trash under the bed and the... More

Thank you for spending your time to write a comment for us.We do apologize for the trash in the room after cleaning. But Nishi-Shinjuku Hotel Mystays is built close to Shinjuku station while still being quiet enough to offer our guests a good night sleep. Also there are plenty of restaurants and bars around here including local Japanese foods so... More

I have stayed at this hotel many times. They rebranded a couple of years ago and updated the room decor, which is a bonus. The hotel is very conveniently located and is just a 5-minute walk from Shinjuku Station. The price has always been very reasonable, but on my last trip in November 2014 it was surprisingly expensive. It was... More

First things first, the price I paid for this hotel was stupidly cheap so this is the main reason i'm giving it such a strong review. The location is good, close to the train station and plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. It is next to a cemetery though so if this sort of thing spooks you I would probably... More

The hotel is not far from the station but getting there with heavy luggage is not easy because of roads crossing or flyovers with lots of stairs. The hotel is not very old but common areas ae very dirty and the rooms are not clean (you leave a paper on the floor of your room and you find it there... More

5 minutes from the station!!!! Don't take a taxi like we did. We arrived at 7am and couldn't pay for early check in. Finally checked in at 2pm with no extra charge. Room was very clean and bed was much bigger than the semi double we were expecting. Bathroom big, you don't need toiletries at any hotel in Japan. Air-con... More

This hotel is close to Shinjuku station west exit , however you might find difficult to locate initially as hotel is hidden from other buildings. If you are travelling with heavy bags , there is a lift lobby , to be used. Check in process is efficient and staff speak English adequately.Free coffee available in the lobby. Rooms are clean... The hotel is located within walking distance to the Shinjuku train station and you practically can go everywhere from there. We traveled with a 2 year old so location is very important for us. Beware - Japan's Subway system is very complicated, but we rented a WiFi device that you can take with you, so we depend on our smart... More

This small hotel is in an excellent location within walking distance to the train station in Shinjuku. We had a deluxe room which was perhaps a bit larger than the regular rooms, but clearly worth the extra money. The beds were very comfortable and the room was well decorated. We appreciated the refrigerator and the excellent maid service. The front... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighborhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
