This hotel was our first impact with a japanese-sized room and I must admit it's kind of tricky to stay 4 nights in a room where you can hardly open your luggage (when you're travelling with 2 large ones). However, the price was incredibly low and the position just perfect to access Shinjuku Station and Kabukicho with both at walking... More

Thank you for staying with us in Nishi-Shinjuku Hotel Mystays. Myself and a buddy of mine decided to stay here for a week while on vacation. The hotel is very nicely located close to many different restaurants and bars and is a short walk to the busier side of area located on the other side of the train station. The rooms are small, but they get the job done, and... More

This is a great practical hotel in central Tokyo. It's in the Shinjuku area, but set back in a quieter area so noise is not an issue. Note that it's actually just outside the Nishishinjuku area, so check your directions in advance. The room was fairly small, but the double room had enough space for two people with large bags.... The rooms were small, nice enough if you don't intend to stay in your room for anything more than sleep. Great location, staff were nice enough, no sign of security, was able to take as many people as we wanted up to the room no questions.

The location of this hotel was excellent, it was very close to Shinjuku station and Kabukicho. We had three beds and one of the fan was blowing directly onto one of the bed (mine) at night. It didn't bother me that much as I was hot, but it could be annoying if you're a light sleeper. Also, it seems to... More

I know what a budget hotel is however budget hotels have housekeeping and cleaners who wipe down the walls and a quality manager who checks everything is cleaned before they give it to the next person. There was an open orange juice left in the room fridge!? Did they not check?! Walls and carpet are in real need of an... More

The pluses - reliable internet, air conditioning works well, location ( had trouble finding it from the train station first time), in room safe & bar fridge. Things to improve - this hotel is not very English speaking friendly. Reception staff speak/understand limited English, the TV has no English channels & instructions are generally not available in English (ie toilet... More

With over 25+ years in the travel industry I can honestly say I have never stayed in hotel room so small. There is no floor space for a bag or suitcase and whilst... More

Well-priced. Small rooms, very small bathrooms. But in Tokyo one should not expect much more so close to Shinjuku action. One can walk to the main Shinjuku stations. A few steps away from the hotel there is a great little seafood place where the menu is Japanese only. The waiters do not speak or understand any English. They allowed me... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighborhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
