The Negatives: The less said about the room the better - uncomfortable bed, bathroom so small you will bang your elbows on the wall every time you move in there. Barely enough floor space to even put the suitcase down. Skip the overpriced breakfast buffet. The POSITIVES: I challenge anyone to find a better located hotel at this price -... More

Because of a change in plan, we had to stay in Tokyo for 2 more nights and everywhere else was fully booked so we ended up here. Having come from a really nice and cheap hotel in the Asakusa Area, this hotel definitely was a big disappointment. Why? 1) Quite a long walk from the train station 2) The room... More

The Tokyo Business hotel is perfect for travelers who need a clean, well located budget hotel in the Shinjuku area of Tokyo but make sure you request a non-smoking room! As with all hotels in Japan, no matter what price point, towels, razors, tooth brushes and shampoo and soaps are provided. If you simply require a clean place to sleep... More

I stayed at Tokyo Business Hotel for 9 nights in April-2014. Overall experience was good. What's good: 1. Tidy & clean no-nonsense rooms (cleaned everyday) 2. Courteous service 3. Most of the front desk staff can understand sufficient English 4. Readily agreed to keep my luggage overnight in the cloak room, while I checked out & returned after couple of... More

I stayed there 4 nights in September 2011. The hotel is a real fit business travelers. The location is convenient, 5-8 minutes walking to the metro station. The great advantage of this property is the staff.Actually  I expect to see such well trained hotel staff there as a great hospitality tradition in this amazing  country. The staff at the reception... More

I stayed here for one night as part of a package deal that included a flight from Osaka, and ended up leaving early because it was so bad. My room reeked of smoke and everything was worn and filthy. The bathroom was shared on each floor, and the only shower/bath facility was a communal one in the basement (separated by... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighborhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
