Wow! Even based on the reviews, I was a little skeptical at first. I was imagining a plain business grade hotel with drab furnishings. But the second we stepped into the lobby, we knew it was the right choice. Others have compared the hotel to a W. I think it's better, because it's not as ostentatious as some Ws I've... more

This is one of the best values in Tokyo, we paid $130 cdn a night, pretty good value for this 3.5 star hotel. It is near Shinjuku station (2 minute walk), walking distance (10-15 min) to the Tokyo Government Building (free observatory, even during the evenings, best views as the city lights up!), shopping galore and close to tons of... more

with its great location near everything and the train station a hop and skip away, this is the best hotel to stay in Tokyo. We paid 127USD /nite for 3 nights and found this hotel to be one of the best we stayed. Amenity kits included a razor even! and slippers in the room made it feel like a posh... more

Stayed for six nights in June while on holiday. Great location, staff and modern facilities. The economy double room was small (as others have said) but by no means should this put you off. Well thought out rooms, nice modern decor, extremely quiet and friendly staff. more

Hotel is located in the heart of Shinjuku, with the JR Shinjuku New South Exit at your doorstep and Tokyo Subway station just next door. You can go to everywhere without worrying about transportation. Since Narita Limo Bus also stops at the hotel front, you don't have to worry about dragging your lugguage to JR station for Narita Express trains.... more

CLEAN, crisp. Compact, but in a very thoughtfull way. Bathroom is modern, all amenities including shampoo, bod wash and conditioner, razor, wash cloth, hair brush...etc. Linen is clan, crisp, muted tones, very calming. Lots of mirrors (small rooms need this). Sharp Aquos LCD. Mini fridge for your sake :) Free high speed internet. Highly recommend! The lobby, but also other... more

The location is great! Next to the JR Shinjuku station, nice rooms and very easy to visit Tokyo. For reference it is in the Southern Terrace exit where it is a Starbucks. You pass the SB and on your right you go downstairs...and there it is the hotel just in front of you. Use the Chuo Line to go to... more

We got a great deal on agoda and wasn't sure what to expect, but this exceeded expectations. The hotel presents well (lobby area etc), the rooms are very functional, and clean. Size is small especially the bathroom, but this is to be expected in Japan. The guest lounge is a good bonus for internet access and coffee/tea. Location is a... more

Having lived in Japan a few years ago and an occasional visitor to Tokyo, the Sunroute Plaza in Shinjuku has been the best hotel I have stayed in, when in Tokyo. The hotel is very modern with the added convenience of being next door to a subway station and only a 3 minute walk to Shinjuku station (Tokyo's largest station).... more

I was originally skeptical about the small rooms at the Sunroute but the hotel definitely exceeded my expectations. We booked a double queen room but upgraded to a "universal room" when we arrived. It was $30 more per night but worth it because it has a small closet and a sofa. The double queen has no closet so you would... more
