My Wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed it. The location is great and the view from our room looked down on to Shibuya crossing. The room was small with 2 single beds. The bathroom was also small but they were ok. The Wi-Fi in the room was excellent! The carpet looked a little bit old... More

I've stayed in a few hotels in Tokyo but this has to be the best location in terms of convenience and price combined. If you arrive by train, follow the signs to Mark City (shopping centre) and when you get close there'll also be signs for the hotel itself. Shibuya is on the Yamanote line, which is good if you... From the hotel, you get a view of the Shibuya Square, where you get to experience the real meaning of organized chaos, and you get to see the statue of Hachiko as it stands right outside the hotel. Groceries and shopping places are just a few steps from the hotel. You do not have to worry about carrying heavy shopping... More

Location is fantastic and hotel is nice! Staff was a little hit or miss with how kind and helpful they were, but overall pleasant and helpful staff. Room size is what you would expect from a Tokyo hotel, but efficient, clean and comfortable. Buffet was smaller than I was expecting but good enough. Like everyone else has said though, can't... Perfect location! Mall and train station easy access! Our room was small but all hotels in Tokyo are small. Just right though if you are only planning to sleep. Love the breakfast area. Lots of selections and view is great! Heart of Shibuya and perfect view of Shibuya crossing and the football field from Tokyo Drift movie! Made me so... More

Hotel tokyu excel is a perfect location to explore shibuya and tokyo in general. The hotel is within the shibuya train station and thus gives you access to all transportatiin forms except the shinkansen. The hotel lobby is on the fifth floor. There are separate elevators to hotel rooms, and a separate elevator that leads to the Mark city mall,... More

Efficient but rather impersonal. Breakfast buffet ordinary. Nice view of Mount Fuji out of one window of the restaurant. Rooms small but there were two double beds. Only Japanese TV channels. On top of metro and train service into central Tokyo and other destinations. Probably would stay in Ginza rather than Shibuya if visiting Tokyo again.

The location alone makes the hotel a top choice. Fantastic spot right above Shibuya square, great subway access to everything a definite pick if you are a shopper. The rooms are a great size with wonderful views. The view from the lift area over Shibuya Square is awesome. The Tokyu Food Show in the basement is amazing, with an incredible... More

I've stayed in this hotel for about 5 times already and each time has been pretty much above expectations. Location is excellent, right in the heart of all the action. From both Haneda and Narita the limousine bus will drop you right the the doorstep. If you are coming from Narita and have many bags, the bus might be a... More

The hotel location is unbeatable. It is connected to the various subway lines, which makes it very convenient to travel to almost all parts of Tokyo you might wish to visit, even to certain places outside of Tokyo like Yokohama. It is an excellent hotel for independent travelers who are sightseeing on their own. The reception speaks fairly decent English,... More

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighborhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
