Okay Excel Hotel Tokyo is in an absolutely brilliant location. Our room literally looked over the often filmed "Shibuya square" where all those video panels up buildings and a million people crossing the road at once all occurs. The metro station is directly out the front of the hotel granting easy access to all of Tokyo. The room was very... More

The location is fantastic. Your are right in the heart of Shibuya & next to the train station. It does not get any better. The hotel itself is a bit dated. The bathrooms are tiny, but this is not unusual for Tokyo. I stayed at the Excel with my daughter. We booked a few months in advanced and requested two... More

Perfect for travellers arriving via Narita Express, and for short stay in the coolest place in Tokyo. Room is small and simple, but the loaction is so fantastic it makes up for anything else... Rooms can be cold inn winter, bring PJs.

We chose this hotel for the location and my wife found a great deal for a family room with breakfast. The hotel is attached to the Shibuya station and Mark City (shopping Centre), you have the famous Shibuya crossing, Hatchiko statue and a huge choice of dining and shopping surrounding the hotel. The quad room was a bit tight but... More

We stayed Hefe for business with a a large groups. The location is the main selling point. It is in the center of Shibuya! Like literally in the center. It was the best located hotel I've ever stayed in within a city center. If you are going to stay in Tokyo, why not stay in the middle of Shibuya? Walking... More

Spent 3 weeks at the Excel Shibuya. Whilst the rooms are quiet small. They are perfectly adequate & have everything you need. There are washing mashines on 3 of the hotel floors which was really useful. The location is just fantastic. You are overlooking the famous Shibuya crossing and right by the train station and all the shops. Really couldn't... More

I was recommended by friends to stay here after their recent experiences. I travelled with two teenage daughters and my 10yr old son. A quad room was perfect. Big enough for 4 beds, separate wet room/shower, as well as separate toilet and a third room which is the bathroom. Gave everyone room to get ready for the day so that... More

3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2015 via mobile

I stayed five nights at the Shibuya Excel Hotel, with my mother and sister in December 2014. It was in a fine location - once you could actually find it. The sign out the front is incredibly small, and can pretty much only be seen when you are right at the entrance. It is located at the between the Shibuya... More

The hotel is in a great location but everything else was average at best. The concierge service was unhelpful, there is no coffee in the rooms, the rooms were not always properly serviced and we got one with no view, the room service menu is extremely limited and overpriced. I would not recommend staying here unless you got a really... More

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighborhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
