The best thing about this hotel is the view. I've stayed in a number of high rise Tokyo hotels and this one has the best view I've seen. The location is great too. But otherwise there's not much to be excited about. The rooms are small and the breakfast isn't that special. It seems like this hotel has gotten a... More

Hotel is a 5-minute walk from Shinjuku's Southeastern exit. Takashimaya, Tokyu Hands, Uniqlo and Franc Franc are opposite. Krispy Kreme is just outside - good place for breakfast. Very modern hotel. Impressive, towering views. I had 2 twin non-smoking rooms. Very clean. Room is spacious by Japanese standards. Very much like an international business hotel. Check-in was smooth. Staff spoke... Much has been written about this hotel and its location is indeed very good - alongside the Southern Terrace of the JR Shinjuku station and on high floors making the views of the surrounding area fantastic. Service was unfortunately a bit patchy and there really is little outside of the lobby area and daily room servicing that makes this a... More

The hotel is centrally located which is around 10-15 mins walk from airport express Shinjuku station. It's in the commercial building which you feel extremely safe to explore around during the night and Takashiyama /Tokyo Hands/ Franc Franc are right opposite to the hotel! There are few restaurants in the building and I highly recommend the Korean BBQ and the... More

My wife and I began our honeymoon in Tokyo, and our first stop was the Hotel Century Southern Tower. My POV is that this is a great, centrally located hotel in Shinjuku (which itself is a great area to stay whilst in Tokyo), perfect for the first few days of a long trip. The room itself was a decent size... More

Highly recommended. Stayed in scenic twin room for 6 nights. Room was spacious for 2 with beautiful view. Hotel is 3-5 minute walk from JR station, from new south exit. We took the train everywhere in tokyo and being close to the station is helpful. Staff was very helpful: I left my cell phone at a restaurant in Harajuku; the... More

We stayed at Hotel Century Southern Hotel with our two boys(ages 7 & 11 years old) from the 3rd to 7th of July 2015.We had a Scenic twin-non smoking room on the 35th floor facing the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden and the Takashimaya/Tokyu Hands shopping center. Room was spacious, clean, had free wifi and the Shiseido toiletries were lovely. Wonderful... More

We selected this hotel based on reviews. It was a good choice. The location is within walking distance to train stations and just opposite Takashimaya and near to many eateries and shopping areas. The rooms are very spacious and clean. As we travelled with 4 young children, we booked 2 connecting rooms that are spacious. Not many hotels in Tokyo... More

Great location and a nice area & hotel to return to at the end of the day. The hotel is across the South Terrace "bridge" (the info counter person didn't know the word overpass, but said bridge to me instead) from Takashimaya Times Square Dept. store. Easy walk from subway station, pass Starbucks, pass the escalator you'll see on the... More

We stayed in this hotel at the start of July 2015 in a Scenic King Room- Non Smoking. The room was very spacious. King sized bed, separate bathroom with shower/bath, toilet and large vanity, TV, fridge and air conditioning. There was enough space in the room to lie down two large cases and small cases (to pack up all your... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighborhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
