This is a Japanese style hotel. The staff are very friendly and can speak simple English. The location is very near to JR Shinjuku Station South Gate. However, they have a strict check-in time of 16:00. In addition, you must leave your room at 10:00 for cleaning services. They also have a curfew of 00:00. You must leave your room... More

The ryokan was clean, had hot tea every night when I came back from a whole day of walking, yukatan was there to use, hot & cold shower, AC available for warm days, soft pillows & futon, clean room. Only downside is the curfew. Bit I wasn't too concerned becUse I'm not the late night kind of person. Super friendly... More

The hotel had basic amenities and was a bit hard to find in the back streets of Shinjuku. No breakfast was available and wifi was only available on the ground floor lobby area. The room was a traditional style Japanese room and was quite small in size. Otherwise, the price was OK by Tokyo standards.

The family (with a 3 yr old baby girl) stayed there for 2 nights and we quite like it. The price is very reasonable for a comfortable stay in Tokyo. The kocation is definitely giod as well, 5 min walk to shinzu station where you can take trains to anywherr in tokyo conveniently. Nearby there are a lot of good... More

Excellent location right near Shinjuku station. Traditional ryokan style room, extremely affordable for anyone on a budget. Lovely hotel manager who allowed my group to leave our bags for a night while we climbed Mt.Fuji.

If you're looking for the ryokan-style with affordable room rate in the great location of Tokyo, this place is highly recommended !!! This place is in the great spot of Shinjuku area, taking about 3-5 mins walk from Shinjuku Station, by using Soutern Terrace Exit which is the nearest. Undoubtedly, the room rate here was double lower than the 5-star... More

Very good location easy to find and affordable. Just take the airport limousine and be dropped off either at Sun route Hotel or at Shinjuku station. The hotel is near department stores such as lumin. The hotel is very clean and the owner Ms. Kubo San is very accommodating. Will definitely stay at this hotel.

When I visited Tokyo I could only stay here. Super clean, the best location you can ask to see Tokyo or to trabel north and south. The connection for daily sightseeing is perfect, but also is when you have to catch a train to or from the airport, a shinkansen to Kyoto/Hiroshima/Fukoka or northern to Sendai/Aomori, day trips to Kamakura/Yokohama... Affordable place, very well located and with very helpful staff. Anyway it is on Tokyo cost standards, that it is expensive but payable. Rooms are tiny but amazingly clean, as everything in Japan. It is a great option for a 5 days or less stay in Tokyo.

I chose to stay here because I had to take the highway bus in the morning next day and I didn't want to use the train during the rush hour of Tokyo. This place is in a very good location. 3 minutes walk from JR Shinjuku station. I took the airport bus from Haneda for Sunroute Plaza stop and it... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighborhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
