First and foremost, you should know there are now two Yadoya hostels. Both are about equidistant to the Nakano train station, a great location - especially for anime/manga lovers! Cheap restaurants and pachinko halls can be found abound and there are shops for cheap deals as well. Regarding the hotel itself, I was in the new one. It looked new,... More

We had a very pleasant one week stay at Yadoya in March 2015. Staff was English speaking, location excellent (5min walk from Nakano JR st.), facilities good, nice common room, fast wifi. We stayed in a private room Ninja. It was quite small and you need to sleep on thin futons, so if you have back problems or such I... More

I have been to several hostels in various countries, but this one was the least enjoyable. Even though staff is very nice and helpful, dormitory rooms are packed with beds and very limited space to move around. Showers are ok, but only one shared bathroom sink has hot water and mirror is on the other wall (not practical for shaving).... More

I think Nakano is one of the best places to stay in Tokyo if you want to find a cheap room near Shibuya/Shinjuku. Yadoya's staff is really nice and speaks fluent english. The room is small but comfortable enough to sleep. They don't provide soap and shampoo, so please bring your own soap/shampoo. 7 Eleven is just right in front... More

The staff was incredibly nice, so I do feel a little bad for writing this, but staying at yadoya was the worst hostel experience I've had so far. Everything from the kitchen and common room, to the bathrooms and dorm rooms is incredibly cramped and dirty and there was a terrible smell in the upper rooms. I was especially shocked... More

I would describe the place as functional, providing a basic facilities for travelers on a budget who still want to stay near Shinjuku. Considering the small price we paid for our 5 nights here we didn't really expect too much so we were content. The place itself is quite small and cluttered, our private room consisted of a bunk-bed in... More

Would like to say that I can really recommend this hostel to any tourist who is looking for a budget option but still wants to stay in a place close to some of the highlights (Shinjuku/Shibuya). Beds are good enough and showers were always clean and working well. People working there were very helpful and could point out good places... More

Good hostel, the location is not the best (railway Nakano), but has its value. Not had any problems with the place, with only the bed that is very traditional (on the floor). The common area is not the greatest, but the place is acceptable.

We arrived at the guesthouse at 2pm after looking at their website, ready to check in only to be told that we were meant to check in at 5pm. The rooms are small but comfortable, the beds are comfortable too. The common room, and kitchen are nice areas to hang out in but come 10pm there are signs saying "No... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Yadoya Guesthouse for 2 weeks. We had booked the hostel off of hostel world and knew that the rooms were going to be a bit small so we booked the largest room that they had and figured we wouldn't be in the room that long anyway. The staff was very accommodating since our flight... More
