Villa Fontaine is a chain of hotels which all follow a very smart concept. The buildings are easy to spot, well sign posted and look beautiful. The central lobby also looks great and the prices seem low. Breakfast is always included in the price. The rooms are of fair size and all the creature comforts one might expect at these... More

Being in Japan for the first time in my life I had many preconceived notions about how tiny the hotel rooms would be. I was therefore pleasantly surprised by a decent sized room and most importantly immaculate in its maintenance and cleanliness. Taxi stand right in front of the hotel and a subway station as well. 15 minute walk from... More

The price is very reasonable for the comfort you get - the rooms are quiet, small but very clean and beds are very comfortable. Hotel offers also adapter for free, also free and very fast WLAN. Taxi available directly in front, and s especailtation (subway) also directly near by. Only the breakfast is not so good, especailly no choice for... More

Unattractive but clean & efficient. Warm welcome from the friendly staff. Small rooms but well appointed; kettle, bathroom amenities, internet, tv, slippers, nightgown! Amazing toilet; sings & dances for you!!!! Heated bathroom mirror!!!!! Useful vending machine on each floor. Location is good, underground just outside & 10 min walk to American Club, Tokyo Tower, the lively Roppingi district, & Embassies.... More

Make no mistake, this is a three-star hotel. It is a boutique business hotel. If you are used to traveling to luxury resorts, this place may not be for you. But if this is your budget, it's not a bad place to stay. Considering what you are paying, the quality of the rooms, and that you are in a rather... More

Roppongi, Roppongi, ah ah, Roppongi. (As the Pet Shop Boys never sung, but then their opus doesn't extend much to the red light districts of Japan...) There are effectively three different Roppongis in Tokyo; there's Roppongi Hills, which is a soulless skyscraper full of salarymen, Starbucks coffee outlets and corporate art. There is the Roppongi your mother / guidebooks warn... More

You are greeted by a friendly, multi-lingual hotel staff. Rioms are not generally ready until 3:00pm. They are happy to hold your luggage so that you can go wander around the many shops in the area. My room (on the 4th floor), was very spacious and included a de-humidifier, massage chair, 36 inch tv, wired internet connection and a robe... More

I should preface this review by saying that my main factor for staying at this hotel was because of it's location. I used to live very close by and wanted to be as close to my old apartment as possible. That being said, some more details... (1) Location - The hotel is attached to a large office / residential complex.... More

I can't give this hotel three stars because that would mean average as in this hotel was satisfactory. It wasn't. I agree with a lot of reviews on here that it fell a bit short on our expectations. At first we were pretty impressed with the lobby, it looked clean and staff can speak English very well compared to the... More

It is hard to beat the location and price of this hotel. There is a taxi stand and the entrance to the subway in front of the hotel. The rooms are basic and a bit tight for two people. There is neither safe nor wifi in the room although wifi is available in the lobby. Japanese breakfast is included.

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighborhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
