Location was great! Within walking distance to: 1.Shimbashi Station, 2. Hama Rikyu Gardens-where you can hop on the ferry and take a ride down the river to Asakusa, 3. The must experience Tsukiji Fish Market. There are also lots of restaurants in the same building. Breakfast choices were both Japanese and western style - pretty good. Rooms were spacious and... Nice hotel in a very good area of Tokyo. Very close to subway and JR stations. Excellent breakfast. Good size rooms, very clean, nice facilities. Close to Ginza, Imperial garden, famous fish market, etc.

This is a modern albeit basic modern hotel in a new high rise development near the Ginza. The pluses: it is spacious and friendly, with a large modern foyer. The lifts are speedy, and if you have a high room overlooking the gardens this is an added bonus. The bathroom is clean and also spacious with a good powerful shower.... More

We stayed here in mid April 2015 and paid $176/night including breakfast for two making this hotel very good value considering its central Tokyo location. The place was impeccable in every way. Quiet, clean and the front desk service was exceptional. Every second floor has a self service laundromat and vending machine area. The location is quite good. It's a... More

I've stayed in this hotel 5 times in the past couple of years on business and although I could live with its small rooms, I was unhappy with its cafeteria-style breakfast set-up. Finally on my own personal trip two times during the same period, I booked two different 3 and 4-star hotels around the same area at room rates 30-50%... More

I have spent probably the better part of 3 months in this hotel over the past few years. The primary reason is that the location is excellent. It is about 70 minutes from NRT and 25 minutes from HND. Once you are at the hotel you are located on JR, Oedo, Ginza, Yurakamome, and Asakusa lines. This makes travel anywhere... More

Excellent hotel with a neighbourhood that has train station, easy connectivity to airport via airport limousine bus. Staff is very friendly but speak limited English. You are never lost when staying here with plenty of restaurants near by. There are good vegetarian options as well. Only big negative in this hotel is a very bad wifi connectivity. They should seriously... More

My husband and I used this hotel as our base to explore Tokyo and found it very convenient. Shiodome is a business district, not a tourist hotspot, which put it at a better price point and let us start and end our days in a quieter neighborhood. Walking through the skyscrapers via elevated walkways, past the Miyazaki steampunk clock on... More

We traveled in November 2014. It was our delayed honeymoon, and we were super excited to be in Japan for the first time. We've routinely traveled for work prior to this, and based on reviews of hotel rooms in Tokyo, we honestly didn't expect much from Hotel Villa Fontaine Shiodome. We figured it would be a smallish room, similar to... More

Hotel: impressive entrance! Efficient. Kind. Very clean. Great breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Compact rooms but with lovely details - (watch out for projection on blind!). Great bath and shower stuff. Location: this is a work/hotel district and I had thought it would be charmless. But it isn't at all. Easy to travel anywhere as you're on top of... More

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighborhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
