If you wondered about the meaning of the hotel's name - it is the katakana version of URBAN Shell, slightly lost in transliteration. Its hard to beat the hotel's location; right in the middle of Akasaka (dozens of restaurants literally around the corner) and close to 4 subway lines. The Chiyoda line Akasaka station's #2 entrance is just around the... More

There's nothing exceptional about the Hotel Avanshell Akasaka. But, by Japanese standards, the rooms are huge, with large bed, working desk, couch, coffee table, adequate closet space and decent-sized bathroom. Perfectly clean and maintained. Heated toilet seat and lots of reliable hot water. Good bathroom amenities. Hot water pot and complimentary coffee, tea, and bottled water. TV with a couple... More

We stayed with our two boys aged 7 and 9 in a junior suite. We had two king single beds in the main area and two futon beds in the Japanese style room off to the side. The room space was very large. I loved the Japanese room with the matted floor and dining table. The hotel staff were very... More

I have stayed here three times in the past year. Enjoy the Akasaka area and the hotel is quite close to subway. Rooms are huge, especially considering what you hear about hotels in Tokyo. Twice I have had a massage chair in my room. Downside is not always having a great internet connection-- and once they did not even have... More

I stayed in twin bed room with my friend. The room was spacious and clean, we were amazed to see that. Hotel Avanshell Akasaka is value for money hotel, which offers all the basic amenities for the comfort of their clients. Staff of the hotel is exceptionally friendly and helped us settle down in our room. They take care of... More

I was pleasantly surprised by the size of my room. It had a desk, a table, two beds, and a microwave and refrigerator. The breakfast that was included was also quite good. The room was very clean. It is centrally located and the price was reasonable for the location.

This hotel is in Akasaka, a high-end location in the heart of Tokyo. For the location, the price is very reasonable. Also, it has unusually spacious rooms for Tokyo standard. The hotel is very quiet. There are loads of restaurants and conbini stores nearby, so meals are easy to come by. Breakfast in hotel's Italian restaurant is 1,000 Yen per... More

We loved this hotel, with it being just down the street from the B-flat Jazz Club. One block further down is a side street full of Japanese and Korean restaurants. It's a great area! We paid the equivalent of 100 euro for our room and is was like a junior suite, with ample twin beds, a kitchenette with coffee maker... More

Stayed 3 nights in September on a business trip. My first trip to Tokyo, and got this hotel recommended from colleagues - mainly due to size of rooms. I had a standard room and it was really spacious. Price is also very competitive compared to the more well-known hotel in the city. Staff was also very helpful with all the... More

We had 2 different rooms for our 3 day stay. Both were spacious, one with a lounge area with couch and TV, and a queen size bed, the other with a kitchenette (microwave, sink), dining table and chairs and two very large single beds. Both rooms were very spacious, with more storage than most hotels. Stylish decor, good bathroom (shower... More
