The prices are so reasonable, and the service was excellent. Every staff member we encountered was so pleasant and willing to help. Breakfast was my favorite meal we had here. They have plenty of healthy options and also delicious french toast! The lounge on the first floor is so cute and has such a great atmosphere. The pool and hot... More

This is yet another amazing location that the DOD has created overseas. It is an amazing price at a great location. The rooms are nice. The amenities are great. Has a cheap bar, a nice exchange, and almost anything else you could need. Need to book your room way in advance as the hotel books up fast. The train is... More

The man should not be hired and work over there. He has forgotten that he is serving service members who are on their leave with their loved ones or civilian employees who are also on leave. He should be fired. The incident was that, I was told by the reservation manager that there were room available immediately through their package... More

This amazing hotel has everything to offer- and most importantly, a piece of home. We LOVED living in Japan, but it was great to retreat to something so quintessentially American (but with Japanese flare in the restaurants and gift shop) occasionally, especially during the very stressful time after the tsunami in 2011. This is my very favorite hotel in the... More

As many other reviewers have noted the New Sanno Hotel is a great value in a very expensive city. Our room...although not on the scale of much grander hotels...was clean and well appointed. It was attractive and adequate. There was a mini refrigerator which was great for storing extra snacks or drinks. The staff was very helpful and kind...and the... More

A great property located in Minato-ku, an upscale, southern part of Tokyo, the New Sanno Hotel brings American standards with Japanese efficiency, service, at an affordable price (compared to the rest of Tokyo). As a US Navy MWR (Moral Welfare and Recreation) facility, you must meet specific requirements: (1) you must meet the eligibility requirement by being on active duty,... More

Great hotel for the price, convenient location, close to the subway, staying there makes exploring Tokyo easy. The Japanese restaurant is excellent ut there are several dining options suitable for a romantic evening for two, or families with small children.

If you have the opportunity and privilege to stay at this hotel please do so . The staff is very helpful and the food is good- Sunday brunch is also a hit and well worth the $29.95 which boasts many hot items as well as a nice salad bar. The indoor pool is also a hit with hotel guests.

This hotel required DOD ID to access. Outstanding hotel in a decent location walking distance to Roppongi area. It has couple American style restaurant in the lobby, and a Japanese-style teppanyaki on the second floor along with a Community Bank ATM machine. However, there's no microwave in the room. The price is range between $50-70 per room with. You can... More

Right in the middle of Tokyo. You have to have an military ID to stay. It's a great place for R&R. The sunday brunch is awesome. The rooms are nice too. I have stay in I think every type. Well worth the money. Its based on pay grade. But hard to get a reservation:)

Staying in Akasaka / Roppongi

Neighborhood Profile
Akasaka / Roppongi
Not so long ago the Akasaka and Roppongi areas were famous for their nightlife, high-class restaurants, bars and clubs. More recently, with the opening of Roppongi Hills, Tokyo Midtown and Akasaka Sacas, the area has declared itself as the most fashionable spot to be seen. The area also hosts the National Art Center and the Mori Art Museum and lots of trendy art galleries.
