I have stayed at the Dai Ichi more than a dozen times and it continues to be my go-to hotel in Tokyo. It is in an excellent location to both trains and subways (underground passage close), and is situated near the Hibiya/Shiodome business district as well as the Ginza shopping district. For runners, it is about 5k/3mi to run from... More

It's difficult to find a hotel which has spacious rooms, superb good location and reasonable price at the same time. Dai-ichi Hotel Tokyo is the one. It is good not only for business trip but also for sightseeing and shopping.

At first, we came to the hotel and had a warm welcome from the staffs, they are very friendly. The room looks ok. the bathroom is a bit small. Something that I really don't like about this hotel is that unlike other hotels that I visited, i have to pay for the water. The only way to get water to... More

We flew in for a 1 night stay (crazy yes). Staff were great. Room was very nice - bathroom upgraded and very modern. WiFi was free and very good (I'm in the business so I notice that) and it was a very solid hotel for what we needed. We did not eat there - Starbucks close by. Very helpful and... More

We spent 4 nights there and I was very impressed by the service of this hotel. The rooms are quite spacious and the bathroom is very clean and spacious too. The toiletries are the best (Shiseido and some other brand) i've used in any hotel in the world. Shimbashi station is close by and can be accessed underground from the... More

That's the first thing I'd like to say about this hotel. Are that the rooms and bathrooms are spacious and not as claustrophobic as other newer Hotels in Japan. The hotel is rather dated and reminds me of a Disneyland Hotel in a theme park. The hotel is extremely clean, which I like. The location is ok, but not perfectly... More

This is a luxury hotel in a unbeatable location. There are no less than 6 convenient stores within walking distance from the hotel and plenty of eateries around. The Shimbashi Station of the Tokyo-Metro Line can be accessed from the basement of the hotel. It can bring you directly to popular places like Shibuya, Omotesando and Ueno. The room is... More

We spent two nights as a family at the Dai Ichi. We had two rooms but the kids got the suite as that was the only room that could accommodate a rollaway. The hotel has an atmosphere of days gone by in a classic hotel sense, so its in need of a refurb but suited our purposes. The rooms are... More

My stay at the Dai-Ichi was brief, but the experience was wonderful! The hotel itself exudes a curious and fun mix of old architecture and modern amenity. For example, the room key was actually a key (a big, gold key) and not a swipe card. The buffet was delicious, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and the location was... More

I really don't know how to rate this hotel. The lobby is beautiful but it's got no life. The restaurants are terribly expensive but its location is not so near the main street of Ginza. This hotel has seen better days. Don't Don't Go to Tokyo Japan for New Year's Eve!!!! It's the saddest place for this night!!! Restaurants close... More

Staying in Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi

Neighborhood Profile
Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's also a downtown area with shops that were founded over a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza. It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels, world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular with anyone looking for a night out.
