I want to let people know about our recent stay at the Sheraton Miyako. I have stayed in numerous Sheraton Hotels around the world and booked on the back of previous experiences. The hotel does a shuttle from Meguro railway station during the day every 15 mins. Very handy for arrival and traveling around the city. The reception area is... More

Stayed 10 days with my 15year old son. The location was quite but the hotel shuttle every 15 minutes made the hotel very near to JR with all the major destinations few stops away. We found getting around and the local area very easy. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Japanese garden is beautiful. The quality and variety of... More

The concierge staff at the hotel was outstanding and made me numerous reservations and indulged my many requests. The room on the club for was very nice and large. Service was great overall. The food in the club was average. The gym was good and there is a pool. The only problem is that it is fairly south in town... More

Stayed there for four nights in recent assignment. The best part of the hotel is the room, the room is really spacious. However the hotel is kind of dated and the breakfast, although having 3 restaurants to choose from, is so-so. I have tried the western one, as well as the buffet. The banana pancake is just a bit odd... More

We stayed for 4 nights whilst in Tokyo with 2 5 year olds. Exceptionally helpful staff and as expected excellent standard of service that comes with Japanese establishments. Had breakfast buffet with the kids being free. Good size twin room that suited us. Shuttle bus was good but at times was crowded on the night return from Meguro to the... More

I had 2 blocks of 2-rooms stay at this hotel during this period. The first was disappointing as the hotel did not informed us earlier that it is EITHER adjoining rooms of twin beds OR non-adjoining rooms (one with twin beds and one with queen bed). However, this was rectified on our second stay with adjoining rooms. Check-in: Very smooth... More

Spent more than a week here. Rooms were large by Japanese standards and though not new, very well maintained and well kept. Location wise it is not exactly the best but the hotel makes up for it with a free shuttle going to the nearest train stations every 15 mins. Breakfast, whether in the restaurants on the ground floor or... More

This is a very nice hotel, with all the bells and whistles you'd expect in a first class Japanese hotel. What really sets it apart is that it is in an expensive, quiet, neighborhood. This is either a good thing, or not. The hotel does offer a free transfer to the bustling Meguro station area, where there is all sorts... More

Hotel room is rather spacious compared to a typical hotel room in Japan. Bathroom has all the amenities (including spa treatment bath powder) though it is showing signs of aging. Staff are very courteous and friendly as one would associate with the Japanese people. Location is not within walking distance of any major shopping or tourist areas though shuttle bus... More

Staying in Shinagawa / Gotanda

Neighborhood Profile
Shinagawa / Gotanda
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with luxury residential buildings and the scene is constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama park and Togoshi park are great places to see beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa and Ebara are very popular. It's a great place to get in touch with the old Edo atmosphere on a pleasure boat cruising along the canal. The neighboring area around Gotanda station is a study in modern contrasts filled with unique restaurants and a lively nightlife.
