I will review the hotel first and the restaurants last. Location: The hotel is easily located, on the east tower of Shinagawa station. Check in : was fast, efficient and polite Room: the room was a 2 double bed deluxe on their highest floor, with a small writing desk, coffee machine, bath and shower in the bathroom. Very clean and... More

I stayed here with my husband in the beginning of March. My husband was there for work and I was tagging along. It's a great business hotel and also convenient for tourists (it's right next to the train and Shinkansen station). The rooms are spacious and clean. They have all of the nice touches such as robes, nice hair dryers,... More

Stayed for 2 nights in an upgraded corner suite. The view was fantastic both day and night. Suite very nicely decorated in an executive way. Interesting multi flush and clean Japanese electric toilets! Breakfasts were excellent with Euro and Asian alternatives. Gym small but useful. Position of hotel is great - on the direct line from Airport, so no line... More

Excellent location, excellent service. We stayed on the 28th floor and couldn't hear the train station. Breakfast was lovely and consisted of both Western and Japanese foods. The concierge Gerald was very helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Connected by an outdoor covered walkway to Shinagawa station, the hotel is easily accessible from both Narita and Haneda airport, while also convenient to travel to most parts of Tokyo using the Yamanote line. The lobby is located on the 26th floor of the Shinagawa East One Tower with an open plan atrium allowing you to see all 7 floors... More

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights after leaving a cruise ship in Osaka and travelling to Tokyo by bullet train. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from Shinagawa station (a huge transport hub) -there is a direct walkway into the hotel building. The Narita Express also leaves from Shinagawa, so for me it was ideal. The hotel... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. I had chosen it for it's ease to get back to Haneda Airport (15 minutes) as we were first time visitors in Tokyo. However, if we go back I would choose to stay here again due to ease of getting to the popular tourist sights of Tokyo and the ambience of... More

We stayed in this hotel for three nights March 2015. Pros: 1. Good location. You get access to this hotel via Narita Express directly from Narita Airport, the whole journey takes around an hour. The hotel is within 5 min walking distance from Shinagawa JR station. It takes around 20 min to go to Shinjuku JR station. 2. Nice staff... More

Spent three nights at the Strings while on business before returning to US. Cab ride from Haneda was short - about 20 mins. I was surprised when dropped off at the door to the building that there wasn't a valet to great me. In fact, i entered the building lobby and didn't really know where to go to get to... More

1st time staying here and as the taxi approached the hotel, I did find the location too heavy on the office buildings and nothing much else. Reached the ground floor and there was no staff to help with the luggage. They are probably busy with other guests, which may mean they are not enough of them. Luckily I read reviews... More

Staying in Shinagawa / Gotanda

Neighborhood Profile
Shinagawa / Gotanda
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with luxury residential buildings and the scene is constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama park and Togoshi park are great places to see beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa and Ebara are very popular. It's a great place to get in touch with the old Edo atmosphere on a pleasure boat cruising along the canal. The neighboring area around Gotanda station is a study in modern contrasts filled with unique restaurants and a lively nightlife.
