I have never been so disappointed in a a hotel as this one. My wife and I are both asthmatics and reiterated that our room be a non smoking one. This was not to be. The cigarette odour so bad in the room (and apparently other rooms as well) we developed asthma. Never again.

Stayed at this hotel for 6 nights and was not disappointed. We were pleasantly surprised with the size of the hotel room, expecting it to be much smaller than it was, though the bathroom was quite small, all the necessities were there. I really enjoyed the old style key this hotel uses, something different from the general electronic keycards in... More

For the money, I thought it was a great place to stay. Central location with conveniences nearby. Was the room small? Compared to Western standards, sure. But it was well-appointed with everything I needed. The bed was more than adequate, the bathroom facilities were clean and worked and it was quiet. It could have been newer or trendier, but I'd... Tokyo Grand Hotel is celebrating it's 40th anniversary this year. That makes sense, staying here is like getting in a time machine to go back to the late 70's. For the fact that you can get bed & breakfast for under $100 in an area of Tokyo like this is superlative. Forget about the old furnishings, the stained carpet and... More

Stayed here in March 2014. Found hotel in a nice central location and not far from Tokyo tower but property is quite old and in need of refurbishing. Room is very small and in particular bathroom. I stayed in a non smoking room but smoke from above floors was coming in through air con and it was very strong. I... More

This was our first time to tokyo and we found this to be a great location to stay. It felt very central to some main districts. Staff were helpful as we speak no Japanese. Could see Tokyo Tower from our room.

We booked here for a few nights stopover, and chose it for it's proximity to the rail and bus station. Sadly the location was as good as it got. Although we arrived late check in was easy, with the receptionist speaking some English. We had a standard room and were allocated one without a view of the Tower. After walking... More

Stayed for a night with family. The room at the 15th floor where we stayed in is spacious and clean. Bathrooms are also clean and well-stocked with toiletries and towels. Building shows some signs of aging, but is well maintained.

We stayed in this hotel for four nights before travelling around Japan. Mainly aimed at business customers, it's a fairly basic hotel, but has everything you'd need for a a few nights visit and at a reasonable rate. Very close to the subway system and only around 5 minutes walk to the train station. All very handy as this means... More

Uninspiring hotel in good central location. Didn't eat in hotel as lots of shops and restaurants in local area. Rooms clean if a bit noisy. Our room was a bit as air con not v efficient. Pay for TV, which seems common in Japan but we didn't bother, Japanese TV being rubbish generally.

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighborhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
