This hotel is located near Tamachi station (about 5 mins walk) which is on the JR Yamanote line. The station is just a stop away from the Shinagawa Station for the N'EX trains and shinkansen. For the price paid and location, I would say this hotel is value for money. We booked room only without breakfast. However not to worry... More

This classical older style comfortable Hote,l has everything you could need for a stay in Tokyo. Close to Tamachi Station and the Yamanote JNR Line and the complex subway system. It offers quality at a truly affordable price. Nice clean and comfortable rooms and plenty of room to spread your things out. Within walking distance are a range of various... More

Spent 6 nights and had no problems. Nice view of the Tokyo Tower. Room big enough for one person and kept very clean each day. Staff eager to help when needed. Location close to Tamachi Station, Family store and restaurants close by. Plan on staying there again.

The hotel is new, the decoration is simple but pleasant, the bathroom has fantastic products and the rooms were very clean. The location was also good, however, maybe some people don't like because it's located in a calm and not crowded area. Nearby you have the JR station and the subway station - they are not very close but they... More

I used to live in the Tamachi area, so on a recent visit I picked this hotel to be around my old neighborhood. The Tamachi area is nice, but I honestly wonder who would stay here unless you work in the area. It's pretty dull, but quiet at least. The JAL City hotel is alright by the admittedly low standards... Spacious twin-bedroom, including its bathroom. Asked for higher floor with view of Tokyo Bay, was lucky to see the full view of Rainbow Bridge. Friendly staff who tried their best to serve us. A few minutes walk to Tamachi Station, with a number of eateries, cafes, and convenience stores along the way. Managed to safe-keep our big luggage at the... More

We stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks during our Japan stay in November 2014. Ups: Their breakfast spread is great and affordable. 50% cheaper than the hotels near by. Its delicious too. Being a vegetarian I survived on some food from the hotel. Ensure you sign up for One Harmony card when you check in. That will save some... More

This was our first hotel when we landed in Tokyo, and they treated us well. They were very happy to keep our luggage the first day (since we landed at 5 am and check-in time was 2 pm) and were very helpful - for example, when I asked where I could plug in my phone to charge it, he apologized... I've been in Jal city Tamachi hotel for three days and I was very disappointed. First of all the staff speaks English very very poor and it is almost impossible to understand each other. The room was averagely clean and it was quite small. TV in the room doesn't offer international channels. Restaurant offers poor choice of food. For example... More

The room were assigned was supposed to be a double but only has one small bed. I am currently typing this on the floor at one in the morning. Rooms are suitable for one person or a small married couple only. Location is on the outskirts of Tokyo, not much to do nearby.

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighborhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
