I have stayed there, because the company I was representing was a few blocks away. There is no room cleaning, so you have to do it by yourself. There are SANYO vending washing machines in the basement. The staff is hospitable with limited English. No need to write about the safety. Japan is a safe country generally and Tokyo has... More

Stayed here for a week whilst visiting Tokyo with my partner. The first thing that attracted us to the hotel was the price, being a bit further out from main Tokyo, you pay a lot less if you manage to book far in advance. The hotel room is quite small, but has everything you need; microwave, kettle, hob, toiletries, towels,... More

I just got back from 2 weeks staying at the Flexstay Inn Tokiwadai. It was just as the first time, if not better given that this time around I was familiar with the area. 24h Mc Donald is just around the corner, as well as Fuentes (supermarket, closing at 2 am). There is an amazing onsen a 20 min walk... More

On this visit we chose a 3 person room for a 9 day period, november 7th til november 16th, before travelling to kyoto and returning for another week in Tokiwadai with Flex Stay. The staff are incredibly helpful and polite, without being pushy or intrusive, the location is as always ideal, and after experiencing various other short term accomodation throughout... More

Cosy rooms, perhaps a little small to some but for standards in Japan, quite large. They have well tended facilities and great proximity to the Tokiwadai station, a Sukiya, Mos Burger, McDonalds, bakery, pizzeria, bento sushi store, convenience store and more - all within a 5-10 min walk at a leisurely pace. Right nearby is also a beautiful ramen store... More

A short distance walk from the station. Quiet neighbourhood during the day and at night. The area has a 24hr supermarket, MacDonald and some eating places that close late. Room is clean and well tidy. Check in and check out required little time and there is no time restricted during the stay. I have a great time during my stay... More

I stayed here for 5 nights. For the price, I'd have to say that it's price performance isn't the best around. unless you're actually planning to visit this area specifically, it's actually not the most convenient location. The facilities as well are also a little lacking in my view. There are other hotels with similar or only slightly more expensive... More

I've stayed at a number of Weekly Mansions Tokyo (now Flexstay Inns) over the past several years, and the service has always been excellent, and the price very reasonable. Tokiwadai was no exception, and I should thoroughly recommend it.

Staying in Akabane / Itabashi

Neighborhood Profile
Akabane / Itabashi
In Akabane and Itabashi, visitors can get a glimpse of the ordinary day-to-day life of Tokyo. On the east side of Akabane station, there are many traditional shopping districts and small izakayas, while on the west side, there’s a modern shopping mall. Itabashi is currently being developed as a residential area with a huge 1.1km long shopping street that extends from east to west. Rows of shops and izakayas target the down to earth everyday needs of locals. Both Akabane and Itabashi are notable for their easy access to the city center as well as their proximity to Ikebukuro.
