The Monterey Hanzomon is conveniently located next to the Hanzomon metro stop making it very easy for visitors traveling with a lot of luggage. It is the third Monterey hotel in Tokyo that I have stayed in and I loved the interior decoration style of the Monterey Hanzomon. I also thought that the room size was generous for Tokyo standards,... More

Great location, literally across the road from Hanzomon subway station. Quiet area of Tokyo near to the Imperial palace precinct. Easy access to major attractions via subway. Room size was more than adequate, and the staff were friendly. Buffet breakfast is worth the extra money, but there are food outlets nearby if not your cup of tea. Overall a highly... More

First off, the best part of this hotel was probably the location. You can't get any more convenient that at a metro stop. The neighborhood was quiet but there was still plenty around for food options. We booked this somewhat last minute and for a decent room in Tokyo with shorter notice this price couldn't be beat. The rooms were... More

Hotel is directly behind the British Embassy. The location is in a very upscale neighborhood. The hotel itself was relatively small, I would call it more of a boutique hotel with two elevators. Staff does speak English. I did notice some smell of cigarettes so they may have smoking rooms. Rooms were small, but that's very typical of Tokyo. The... More

Offices around this place, quiet at night, not the touristy noisy neighborhood. A few nearby modest restaurants and very convenient to get to the metro, which is just across the road. Rooms are small but comfortable, everything is tastefully done. Breakfast is served by attentive staff and very good spread. Very modern and clean. A convenience store is few steps... More

We stayed at the same chain over at Osaka a year ago (Hotel Monterey Grasmere Osaka) which we loved, so decided to pick Hanzomon after eyeing it for quite some time. While it was less inspired than Grasmere, it had the similar overall look and feel. PROS: 1) Location - Just as central as it could get, easy to access... More

I stayed in this hotel for five days. The location is great, walking distance to the Imperial Palace and the Museum of Modern Art, the metro station Hanzomon is very close. The room is simple and small: do not pack a big luggage, if you do not want to fill up the space... the breakfast is good, mainly Japanese meals,... More

I have been to Tokyo several times on personal trips before but this was my first time with a large group. The hotel was chosen by our tour leader with the instruction that it should not be too budget like, must be comfortable and convenient, value for money. Arriving in a big bus, it was quite a surprise that disembarking... More

We stayed in a twin room in this hotel as mother/daughter tourists. Check in was strictly 15:00 so when we arrived at 10:00 they took our bags from us and asked we come back later. Like many of the hotels in Japan the receptionists didn't speak particularly good English but everyone was so kind and polite I managed to get... More

The hotel is just across from exit 5 of the Hanzomon Z5 05 station very close to Sushikatsu restaurant and sushischool on Ichibancho. The hotel is clean convenient and is just what you need to have a comfortable sleep. The rooms are very small but with your eyes closed just big enough. If you seek a good place where you... More
