We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights and have been in 3 different rooms. First of all, get onto the top floor, 13F, if you can. The entire floor is non-smoking. Secondly, be aware the single/semi-double rooms are tiny, but quieter than the twin rooms at the back. On the other hand, the twin rooms at the back of... More

Good business hotel to stay. No conference or meeting room. There is few cafes and restaurants in same building. Outside minutes walk train station, restaurants, and shopping complex. Room quite and good security elevator. Room small for the price. Friendly staff at front desk.

Convenient, clean and new-looking hotel in an excellent location. Surrounded by it all and across the road from Akihabara JR station. Room was small as expected, but it was cosy and clean, and you can't expect more for such a good price. You don't need much more than a clean bed and clean bathroom to get back to after spending... Its a really good hotel, good location in Akihabara, next to all the good shops, the nice restaurants and just by the station. The staff is really nice and helpful. The last day they keep our luggage for almost the full day until we had to leave for the plane. The room are well cleaned and enough big for the... More

I was on the business trip and got a chance to stay 2 nights at this hotel. Akihabara Washington offer a great location beside Akihabara train station where you just need to get out at Central Gate exit, and to you right (opposite of Yodobashi Camera), you will see the hotel! Beside closing to the train station, there are also... More

This hotel is small but very good service and convenient. It is very close to Yodabashi which I spent a lot of time shopping. I can unload stuff in the middle and take a break at the hotel and continue shopping. The price is competitive. I can use the money saved to buy more.

My foremost consideration in finding a hotel in our recent trip to Tokyo was its accessibility to the train station. You see, we were travelling a lot (with Senior Citizens in tow) and felt that using a taxi everytime we go back to our hotel room would be impractical not to mention time consuming. The search was over when I... More

Convenient location right across the street from the Akihabara train station, and helpful staff. We paid for the room in advance via an online booking agency. However, this was our first night in Japan after a long flight via China, and by the time we arrived I was a bit worse for wear. We had a number of hotel reservations... More

Washington Hotel Akihabara is located right next to the Akihabara Station, and it is probably a 2-3 mins walk to get to the hotel. This is a plus point if you have a big luggage you are lugging around, the proximity to the train station is just really great. Second plus point is: it is right in Akihabara! Where all... More

We chose the Washington hotel as it was located close to the las-vegas-style crazyness of Akiba, and it did give us both the fear and the loathing. We had ordered three rooms, two with queen beds and one with twin beds. We did however receive three queen bed rooms, forcing my baby brother and my mother to sleep in the... More

Staying in Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda

Neighborhood Profile
Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.
