My husband and I spent 10 days in Tokyo and Yokohama and stayed at the Peninsula while in Tokyo. We also stayed at a 5 star hotel in Yokohama, yet the Peninsula was far and away beyond the other hotel. The Peninsula Tokyo is ideally located near both Ginza and Tokyo Station, allowing you to shop and dine right out... more

This is easily the best hotel in Tokyo now. Great, large rooms with all the amenities you'd want, and over-the-top service. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room service and afternoon tea very good. The only complaint was the two rude American businessmen we encountered in the public areas, with their big mouths and sour faces! Embarassing to the nation. Here's... more

I recently stayed at the Peninsula Hotel in Tokyo during a business trip. Overall, it was a Five Star experience. The hotel accommodated my business needs and provided a comfortable environment for me to relax and enjoy Tokyo. Many of the staff members spoke English to varying degrees. As an American who speaks little Japanese, I felt comfortable at the... more

After all the rave reviews I was expecting to be blown away. I'm a regular at the Pen in New York and felt that the Pen Tokyo has missed a great opportunity. I had a lovely room looking out over the Imperial Park but it felt a bit corporate and not that haven of luxury and relaxation you would expect.... more

As many reviews say it all. Service ~ immaculate, from door-girl, Hitomis-san to the valet shoeshine. We booked the Michelin Star restaurants ourselves, we request the concierge to confirm before we arrived. They did a great job. The chief concierge , Ms. Tanaka is just amazingly professional. Location~ close to nice shopping with some cheap eats near Yuracho station. The... more

When I first entered the hotel, I thought I made a wrong choice. The lobby was a tea room by that same name "The Lobby" and it was full of people and noisy. Imagine walking into a hotel and having to proceed where on both sides are tables with people enjoying their afternoon teas. Since Peninsula tea time is highly... more

The Pen is a rarity amongst Tokyo luxury hotels in that it is a stand-alone building (opened September 2007) and not part of an office complex. The hotel was lucky to find such a great spot, directly above Hibiya metro (there is a connection underground), 10 minutes walk to Tokyo Station, directly on Naki-Gori (?) which is the nearest you... more

Having read all of the glowing reviews for this hotel before we left for Tokyo we tried to temper our expectations in the event that we might be disappointed by the reality. On previous visits to Tokyo having stayed at the Four Seasons Marunouchi, Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, and Mandarin Oriental, we were unsure how the Peninsula would match up.... more

We stayed at the Peninsula Tokyo for 2 nights to celebrate my birthday. We had booked an Executive Suite and requested a top floor one to make the most of the view. We arrived around midday but unfortunately our Suite was not ready yet and were asked to come back 2 hours later. Fair enough although I have noticed that... more
