One of the handful of “built as a hotel from the ground up” buildings in Tokyo, Peninsula has aged well as opposed to Ritz Carlton for example which is looking very worn out. I’ve been staying here several times since 2008 (probably over 10 times in aggregate and mostly in deluxe suite). For me the room design is the key... More

High quality rooms of a very good size, perhaps with a business rather than holiday feel. Bar on the top floor offers a good range of drinks and lovely views but often, even mostly, busy. Concierge desk helpful but somehow not great.

Fantastic hotel with a perfect location as it is possible to go to Ginza by walk (5 minutes). The Peninsula is located in front of the Imperial Palace, a huge garden in the middle of Tokyo. The restaurant at the top, Peter, is not to be missed for the unique panorama.

My husband and I stayed at the Penisula May 11th - 14th. We had a very nice room on one of the top floors with views of the Imperial Palace. Room was spacious and bathroom large - had his and her sinks on opposite sides of bath. Location was perfect for us. We could walk almost everywhere. The only downfall... More

Just quietly it is my aim to stay in everyone of The Peninsula Hotels (shh don't tell the husband...). This was our 2nd Peninsula experience, first time with kids in tow...After staying the Peninsula Hong Kong last year I wondered if Tokyo would measure up to that amazing experience...It did...Rooms really big for Japan, staff superb, beautiful swimming pool and... I have been fortunate to stay in quite a few very nice hotels on my travels but The Peninsula Tokyo is by far the best! Very good location - walking distance to Ginza shopping and by the Imperial palace. The rooms are great but the best thing about the hotel is the service. Exceptional is an understatement! Everyone is very... More

We stayed 3 nights at Peninsula in May 2015. If you want a hotel that gives you very personal service (in English in particular) and is in a great location, I have no hesitation to recommend this hotel. It is especially good if you want a relaxing trip to Tokyo (as trips to Tokyo can be hectic as there are... More

Let me start by saying that Peninsula Tokyo is not a bad hotel. Not at all. It is a fine place to stay - the location is fantastic and there are all the amenities a very good hotel should have. But it also prides itself of 5 star service and charges accordingly, and so should also be compared to other... More

We stayed 3 nights at the Peninsula in April, 2015. A brief summary of our stay - 1. Check in & check out - efficient, but slightly inflexible. We left our luggage with the hotel after 2 nights and travelled to Kyoto. We check back in to the Peninsula on our last day, we arrived at 12 noon but the... More

Staying in Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi

Neighborhood Profile
Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's also a downtown area with shops that were founded over a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza. It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels, world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular with anyone looking for a night out.
