Expections on my side were maybe too high. The location of the hotel is great and it is modern. The room was large and the facilities (pool and gym) very good. The rest however is overrated and overpriced. Breakfast was served in a very noisy lobby with live piano music which would be more appropriate in other surroundings. The massage... More

The Peninsula Hotel is beautifully built, but in high season at least (when we were here), the hotel's service let us down. We were seated at breakfast next to a door with a cold air rushing in. We had to ask for blankets to stop from freezing. Also, a pet peeve of mine: 1) they tell you at check in... More

I cannot say anything bad about the room I stayed in at the Peninsula Tokyo because it was simply magnificent : spacious, impeccably appointed and all round comfort. What to me takes the shine out of this place is the crowded foyer, slightly chaotic check in process and lower floor rooms being overlooked by nearby office blocks. The location is... More

Such a fantastic location with easy access to public transport and sights of interest (Imperial Palace, Ginza, Fish Market). We had a lovely room that was exceptionally well appointed on the 14th floor that was also well sound proofed. Breakfast was a choice of American style or Japanese, that was well presented and always accompanied by fantastic service. Used the... More

This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in to date, this was my first stay in a Peninsula hotel and won't be my last, from the moment you enter through the revolving door you are greeted by welcoming and present staff, the check in desk is small and modestly placed at the rear however this all adds to... During our first trip to Tokyo we got a super deal on this hotel from Expedia - more than 50% cheaper than other 5* hotels in Tokyo, but without any compromise on what you would expect from The Peninsula Hotel brand. This hotel is in the centre of Tokyo, in an area compared to Mayfair in London - brilliant starting... More

Strange lobby as you walk in as the check in is at the back. Room was wonderful with great views, bathrooms to die for and a walking wardrobe . Beds and pillows very comfortable with everything being automated. Service second to none. Swimming pool is. A good extra with a reasonable gym. spa looks good although I didn't try it.... More

Once again had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel. The room renovations are subtle but all great improvements, new carpeting, new throw pillows etc. The service remains top rate and the food is also great. The spa is still one of the best in the city and they remain competitive by offering new services and treatments. Interestingly, they... More

One of the finest hotels I have stayed in, set in a quiet but accessible part of Tokyo above a major transit hub and very close to Tokyo Station. Everything is impeccable about this hotel; the only curious feature is the built in electronics in the gracious rooms which will need work shortly. Highly recommended.

Probably the best hotel I have ever been in. Fantastic service, fabulous room, lots of gadgets around like electric blinds, Lavazza coffee machine and the best Japanese technology toilette I saw in Japan. It is located in Ginza that has lots of places to shop and to have dinner. And the cherry: it has a direct access to the Subway!... More

Staying in Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi

Neighborhood Profile
Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's also a downtown area with shops that were founded over a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza. It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels, world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular with anyone looking for a night out.
