I'm happy to recommend this ryokan as a great place to stay while in Tokyo. The location is fantastic with a 5 min walk to Ochanomizu station which gives you access to both the standard and rapid transit JR lines putting you within 15 mins of Shinjuku, Shibuya, Asakusa, Akihabara, and Tokyo station. The rooms are clean and comfortable and... More

We stayed here in two blocks over a two week period (with a gap in the middle while we activated our rail passes and did some travelling outside Tokyo). The ryokan is well situated with good access to several tube lines. The room was very nice, although very small. It was clean, the futons were comfortable, and we were provided... More

The hotel is located in what seems to be an office building. However, do not let this influence your decision. The rooms are very accomodating and clean. Bathroom is also very clean and had all ammenities. Even brushes (tooth and hair brush) and other amenities were provided. It does provide a Japanese stype lodging in the middle of Tokyo. Best... As a non-Japanese traveler who speaks only limited Japanese, the prospect of staying in a Ryokan was a bit intimidating. Easing my fears, Ryokan Ryumeikan-Honten was a great place to stay in a little pocket of calm within the bustling city of Tokyo. They did a great job of making me feel welcome. Read on for more... A very comfortable hotel in a convenient but quiet section of Tokyo. Good decor and good breakfast. No elevator. Staff was unhelpful when we asked the location of a laundry (no guest laundry); we had to call the English-language travel info line for the address of a laundry. I like the Yaesu-Ryumeikan across from Tokyo station better, but it was... More

This was the better of the two places that I stayed with my son in Tokyo this trip. I booked online, and it was not clear from the automated email that the booking was confirmed, but it was. We paid 25,600 yen for two nights. That includes a rather good breakfast in the adjoining restaurant, Keyaki. The room is clean... More

Our four day stay in Tokyo was only improved by staying at this Ryokan. It is a traditional Ryokan with 6 tatami per room, two does sleep on the floor quite comforably, there are rice paper doors, and all of this placed inside the first two floors of an office building. Go figure. Each room starts with an anti-chamber for... More
