I had the pleassure to stay for more than 8 weeks at the Dai-Ichi Annex Hotel. (Dont mix it up with the 4-Star Dai-Ichi Hotel which is directly next to it). First, the location of the Hotel is very good in regards to the price they are asking for a stay. If you are in a rush you can make... More

The location is just superb. Shimbashi station (which is serviced by many major lines) is about 7 - 10 mins walk. Another smaller station, Uchisaiwaicho is about 7 mins walk away. For those who take train and have heavy luggage, take the exit near Toei Subway Asakusa line. There is an escalator that goes up. Ginza Exit is nearer to... More

Location is conveniently 10 mins' walk from Ginza and the rooms are comfortable. However, the hotel is a little dated and could use a facelift. No other facilities otherwise. There was an Italian restaurant in the basement which was so-so. My only complaint: No air-con turned on for the winter = very warm in the room!

A poor cousin of the adjacent Dai-ichi Hotel, Dai-ichi Annex, offers a small room (not unusual in Tokyo) which is very clean. Hotel is not filthy or untidy but has an old look and feel. Rooms have retro style keys which need to handed over to the reception. Breakfast options are very very limited if you do not fancy Japanese... More

We spent 5 nights here as our Tokyo base for exploring the city. Located near Ginza and 4 minute walking distance from Shimbashi JR Rail and Metro Stations made it a great location to stay - only 2 stations from Tokyo Rail Station and easy walking distance to Ginza. Hotel originally a business hotel but we found many tourist couples... More

It was our first time in Tokyo and the hotel was easy to find. We took the subway from Haneda airport and got off at shimbashi station. Exit thru Hibiya park exit and the hotel is less than five minutes walk away. The location of this hotel is excellent. We walked to ginza and the fish market. There are a... More

The hotel is VERY close to one of the main rail hubs - Shimbashi station. Actually, it's also quite close to the Tokyo central rail station. The views from the rooms are surprisingly good - you either enjoy Ginza or a park area north of the hotel. Wi-fi is included into the room cost and its good! The room inside... More

The hotel is close to the Shimbashi train station which is a major station in Tokyo. The service is the hotel was great, and the staff was very helpful and helped us with each request. The room is very nice an comfortable, with a big bed. The hotel is a walking distance from Ginza, and a 1000 Yen ride to... More

Staying in Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi

Neighborhood Profile
Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's also a downtown area with shops that were founded over a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza. It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels, world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular with anyone looking for a night out.
