I was there for 4 nights and I enjoyed myself a lot. The price is considered cheap (slightly more expensive that hostels in Asakusa) since it is located closer the Shibuya. It was very comfortable and the shared toilet is very clean. There is a cafe that allows you to mingle with other tourists or even locals who frequently patronize... More

The ever busy Sakura Hotel is a great location to explore Tokyo from. We spent a superb two nights here in a fairly spacious (by all accounts) double room. Comfy bunk-beds meant good quality sleep and the shared wash facilities were fine and clean. Lots of information to hand and really friendly staff who worked tirelessly to answer guests questions... Stayed at Sakura Hotel Jimbocho for almost 2 weeks. Our room was very small, even for two very slim persons it felt crowded sometimes. But I think it's fine, the smallness of the room didn't really bother me most of the time. Even though it's a cheap hotel, it's very clean. We got up pretty late everyday and met the... More

I was having a few days in tokyo and decided to take this hotel mostly because of the price. It is sort of hotel/hostel thing, where rooms are pretty small but I guess that's the thing in Japan anyway :-) Good location, pretty close to metro and to cigarette vending machine :-) Staff was really nice and friendly. Good place... More

Spent three nights in the girls dormitory. The room is in a basement, has no natural light or ventilation, and adjoins the ho(s)tel's boiler and wash room. It is incredibly loud 24/7. Even by Japanese hostel standards the room is cramped (and not particularly clean). Avoid.

I was mainly concerned about service quality and that was exactly what I received at the Sakura Hotel in Jimbocho. I encountered a couple of stressful problems while I was traveling in Japan (my own mistakes) but the staff really helped me out and made sure if if everything was fine at the end. I had a lot of trouble... More

Clean and compact, the rooms are tiny but deliver everything you need - so long as you don't need to swing a cat. The staff were very helpful, giving excellent advice on things like negotiating the Tokyo subway system. So long as you don't mind the toilet and shower down the hall (actually 2 paces from our room) this is... More

I had a great time here. I traveled alone to Japan from the US as a 22 year old girl and was so happy I was directed to this hostel. The staff was so friendly and I knew at any time of day or night I would be greeted my smiling faces and could buy a hot meat and coffee.... More

Compared to my bad experience at Hotel Istana Ratu in Jakarta where my nephew lost his money in his backpack inside our room, Sakura Jimbocho hotel's staff are honest and helpful. I left my money and credit card with the receptionist who just placed them on the rack (not safety box) in a room right next to the reception. Everything... More

If you want a good sleep, don't choose the male dorm. There is one person making long stay who keeps on coughing at night, i don't even get one night of good sleep. Also the staff couldn't help me with the problem, they only asked me to add money to change to single room, which is too costly for me.
