Nice room, the dorm is nice. Shower rooms and toilet are small but enough for use, and clean. The room is small cozy, good for youth travellers, but not quite match with family travelling with many luggages. There's toasts complete set, jams, toaster machine, soup, coffee and cold beverages, Mountain Dew is here! The staffs are friendly and helpful, fluent in english.... More

This hotel is very close to the city centre or the Imperial palace as a guidepost. It's only about 5 minutes walk away from the closest subway station. This is a hotel/hostel kind of facility so if you're looking for a Hyatt style hotel, you'd best look else where and pay way more. Bathroom and toilets are shared per floor.... More

The internet here was garbage. Yes, you connected to a router. No, you didn't receive functional internet. The internet speed was clocked at a staggering 0.12 Mbps on a Wednesday afternoon when nobody was around. That is as slow as dial-up. In 2016! In Japan! Also, the pleace feels like a college dormitory for the dorkiest weirdos ever. Total melvins... More

This hotel was perfect for my stay in Tokyo, very close to the underground in a quiet area off the main highway, a short walk from Akihabara. Reception staff were very helpful with our needs and friendly. Needed to change rooms and was done with minimal hassle. Good little coffee shop downstairs, and easy to meet other travellers!

This was the third time I have stayed at the Sakura over the past 12 years. It remains a hassle free place to stay. It hs a 24 hour cafe downstairs and the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Up the road (50 meters) are Thai and Pizza restaurants and around the corner, the ubiquitous convenience store and even a... More

Stayed here for 8 nights in a Twin room (which actually consisted of 3 beds- a bunk bed and a single bed) not sure if we got bumped up to a bigger room because we only booked for 2 people but i was not complaining, it was the most spacious room I stayed at whilst traveling Japan! The room is... More

The staff is very helpful and friendly. The food is good too and in the four days we were there they organized a party for all guests and a sake tasting evening. Great opportunaties to meet fellow travelers. The location is very close to the subway station. Our room was very, very small. But we requested a room near the... More

Clean, really efficient staff and great location. On top of it, they sell the 1, 2 or 3 day subway pass for overseas people!! They can help you 24/7 in anything you need. Facilities were also good I just missed the possibility on going up through stairs :) Can't say anything but "awesome place"!

Staying in Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda

Neighborhood Profile
Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.
