This luxury property is within the upper floors of a new skyscraper, close to the station and within easy walking distance of the Imperial Palace Gardens. Rooms are spacious and well appointed with magnificent city views through floor to ceiling windows and the staff exude courtesy at every turn. Bathrooms have a glass wall on the the bedroom to enable... More

We stayed here for 3 nights for the first part of our Japan tour. The staff of this hotel is super, as we arrived from the airport we took the Narita Express to Tokyo Station where Shagri-pa staff is already waiting for us in the platform. It's a good thing we arrange for this free service or we could have... More

Needed a hotel near Tokyo Station at late notice and decided to stay at the Shangri-La for the first time. Price for the room was horrifying, but it seems it was a very busy Friday night and many hotels were completely full or extravagantly priced, so I just hoped it was going to be worth it. It turned out to... More

All Shangri-La hotels have superior service and upscale decor, but Tokyo's Shang has a world class ITALIAN restaurant, the best afternoon tea service, gorgeous marble bathrooms, fine art, oodles of brilliant Swarovsky crystal chandeliers and drapes embellishing the public areas- and the deepest lovely bathtubs and abundant fluffy toweling. Beautiful city views and it's proximity to Tokyo Statuon make this... More

Very comfortable rooms. Perfect service. Our room had a great view, massive bathroom and a nespresso coffee machine. It also had comfy pyjamas, kimono style robes as well as regilar bath robes. At check out the hotel even gave me a box of chocolates as it happened to be my birthday.

Hands down the nicest hotel I have visited - incredibly high standards of service and a beautiful room as standard. The hotel has a gym and pool with onsen as well as a couple of very good restaurants. It is also very close to the palace where you can burn off extra energy with a couple of 5k laps. All... More

An excellent hotel. Very smart and comfortable accompanied by excellent service. The room was large and very comfortable with great views. The restaurant was smart/formal, but I had an excellent dinner there. The bar was a delight to have a drink in with magnificent views across Tokyo. I have absolutely no complaints about this hotel and I will be back... More

I have just returned home from what I believe is my 7th stay at the Shangri-La, Tokyo. I know for sure I will be back, there is no reason to explore the other great hotels in Tokyo (I have been to some of them). Firstly, it has the perfect location on top of Tokyo Station, and walking distance to quite... More

Shangri-La’s hotel rooms are wonderfully generous in size, with good desk space. I stayed four days, with my husband and little girl (and helper), in interconnecting rooms, while my husband attended a conference in the hotel. Shangri-La, Tokyo is in Marunouchi (the financial district); a very different area, and pace, to the other side of Tokyo, Shinjuku/Shibuya/Harajuku/Roppongi Hills. But is... More

Staying in Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi

Neighborhood Profile
Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's also a downtown area with shops that were founded over a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza. It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels, world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular with anyone looking for a night out.
