Great, courteous and English-speaking front desk staff. They were very helpful and went extra mile to answer questions and to provide help. The hotel is in a good location - about 10 minutes from Akihabara and about 5 minutes from the Kanda Station on foot. There is 7-Eleven close by (3-minute walk)where we bought our meals and other needs. I... More

Small rooms in an old hotel but the rooms were clean. Bathroom was very small. Lobby underwhelming but friendly staff. Easy walk to Akihabara. We were only there for 1 night. Would stay again on another short stay. Price very reasonable.

I just went to Tokyo on 4-18 April 2015 and stayed in this hotel for 6 nights and another 2 nights after came back from other cities trip. The room was in the good size, comfortable and clean. Most of hotels in Japan (budget hotel) I stayed were quite dark and small but this hotel weren't. When I had to... More

Perfect location, really nice, friendly and helpful staff who will be very happy to answer all of your questions! Our room was big, clean and tidy. All of us really liked it and hope to come back again one day. Thanks for a memorable stay

I went to Japan from October 21-29 and stayed at this hotel. It's in a good location, since it's in a quiet area. I didn't hear much traffic while I was in the room, and when I left in the mornings, there wasn't much foot traffic in the area. It's easily within walking distance of a supermarket (Gyomu Super Kanda)... More

Great location just a few minutes’ walk from Kanda metro and JR Rail Stations, good size rooms with sofa, fridge, TV, A/C, tea/coffee facilities and Wi-Fi. Hotel is also very clean, quiet and close to lots of local restaurants. Good value for money I’d definitely go back.

Olympic-Inn Kanda is centrally located making it easy to travel to various sights and parks. I traveled with my husband and another couple ; and we managed to walk around quite a bit to Tokyo Station, Ueno, and even to Ginza. However, getting to Shibuya and Shinjuku requires taking the train as the locations are much further. But not to... More

Pretty good hotel. Located not so far from JR Kanda station. May be a little bit tricky to find but just for the first time. Rooms are not very spacious, but its usual for Tokyo middle-range hotels. Vending machines with drinks and simple bento choices downstairs. Not bad and prety good for its price.

Simple hotel that is 5min walk away from JR Kanda station. Each room has a map of local establishments. We used this and found the best sushi we had in Japan - the type that melts in your mouth. The room we had was smoking type, but other than that it was tolerable. They have Shiseido toiletries, offer sleeping robes... More

We chose this place as we needed to get up early to get a train from JR Tokyo station and this is one stop away and quite cheap... we paid Y5500 for a huge quiet room. pros - close to station, helpful staff (who also know English), large room, can lend LAN cable for internet use, someone in the area... Staying in Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda

Neighborhood Profile
Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.
