This hotel is in a great location, right next to the imperial palace and its garden. I used this hotel as a base from which I could explore the city of Tokyo. And I found it to be ideally suited for this task. It is right next to an exit to the Takebashi subway station, through which the Tozai-line runs.... More

I stayed at KKR for 3 nights in August, the location of the hotel is excellent (Exit 3B at Takebashi metro station takes you straight to the hotel entrance). The staff seemed very friendly, although I only spoke to them during check in and check out. I stayed in a Deluxe Single Room (double bed) and for Tokyo - it's... More

Dear Mr Phil, Thank you for posting your review. We were very happy to read that you enjoyed your stay with us. As you pointed out, our deluxe single rooms are relatively spacious for Tokyo standard. It was lovely to hear that you enjoyed a view of Tokyo Skytree as not every deluxe room has a view of Tokyo Skytree.... More

I stayed here for six days while attending a workshop near Tokyo station. This Japanese run hotel is of good standard. The view over the park from the dining floor is exceptional. The location is great for shopping near the station area but also for running around the park. There is a metro station at the hotel entrance.

Dear Mr/Mrs taahaug, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are delighted to learn that you enjoyed staying with us. As you mentioned, the hotel is directly connected to a subway station (Takebashi station on Tokyo Metro Tozai Line). The location is excellent as the hotel is close to Marunouchi business district and also easily accessible to shopping/sightseeing... More

Close to my work needs this is a comfortable hotel to stay at. Small rooms but suitable for short visits. Air conditioning does not stay on when you leave he room which makes it uncomfortable on hot and humid days when you return. Views of the Emporer's Palace and gardens are very nice.

Dear Mr Rarking, Thank you very much for posting your review. We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay and the wonderful view of the Imperial Palace Gardens. Reasonably priced hotel across from Imperial Palace compound/park convenient to many corporations and right in front of major train/subway line. Room was comfortable and views were great. Hotel bar on top (or near top) was very nice. The only issue I had was about getting taxis. It seems not many taxis stop here so I had to wait several minutes... More

Stayed here for the first time. very reasonable price. Rooms a little old fashioned. Staff very helpful. Best part - other than general location, is the view from the breakfast room. Right across the park. Lovely.

The KKR is a very nice four-star business / banquets hotel in central Tokyo, located right on top of the Takebashi metro station. It is within walking distance of Tokyo Station with hand-luggage (but for wheeled luggage take a taxi). Note that in Japan taxi drivers don't speak English and don't know the names of hotels; make sure you have... More

If you need to be in this area, this is a good choice and price is reasonable for the the financial district. Rooms are small and typical for Japanese business hotels, however there is the option at a higher price, for the larger rooms. If it meets your budget, I suggest you book the larger room. Many rooms have a... More

This was a refreshing change from hotels which seek to be a little bit of America. It is a Japanese hotel frequented by their civil service, partly because of its good value for money. It is Japanese not in the sense of kitsch tourist expectations, but offers rooms, facilities, food and drink for the typical Japanese traveler, and does a... More

Staying in Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda

Neighborhood Profile
Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.
