This is a cool hotel nearby Akihabara train station and within walking distance to many of the electronic shops and restaurants in the area. The rooms are typically of Japan size, i.e. not your usual large size that you may find in e.g. Australia. But everything works, is well organised and clean. Room coffee and tea supplies are very basic... More

We had just a one night stay here but we was very pleased with the hotel. The rooms are small but it's what you expect for a room in Tokyo on a low budget. It was just what we needed for a nights sleep and I would return if I was in the area. Location is very easy to get... More

Very good location and friendly staff. Convenient grocery store in the lobby and good breakfast buffet. Lots of cafes and bakeries nearby including a Starbucks. 3 JR lines and multiple metro lines nearby. Room isn't as clean as most hotels so 4/5 only.

I have stayed here the past few times to Tokyo. It's an easy walk to the JR station, Akihabara, and a brewery. Excellent home base for a Tokyo trip. The facilities are small but good enough. Everything is clean and orderly. Only complaint is the amount of light that comes in through the window at night.

I got one of the single rooms in the hotel. The size, as is typical in Japan, is very small. But this aside, the hotel has everything you need, the bathroom is compete in amenities, and they offer free hair brush, qtips, body scrub, and facial wash etc. by the front desk. The bed was pretty decent as well and... More

I was very surprised at the quality of the hotel for the price in Japan. The company looks after all the details. The room is small, but everything is organized so well that you have a place for everything. The check in was easy. The hotel is near the post office, about a 5 - 8 minute walk to the... More

The hotel has all the amenities the luxury hotel has. The size is small but I think it is the typical size. The buffet breakfast is good. Some difficulty to communicate in English with the front desk.

Hotel and location excellent, 3 min from metro station and 5 min from akihabara electronics town by walking. also it's to easy from here to get to the shibuya station for clubs and pubs, and ginza station for luxury shopping. here's only one problem. Staff can't speak in english enough.

Excellent location, around 5-10 minutes to Akihabara (The Electric Town) which is one of the most popular tourist place in Tokyo. The hotel staff can speak English very well. Clean room and bathroom. The room is feature air purification systems and safes. There's a convenience store attached to the hotel at ground floor. The nearest train station is Awaji-cho station,... More

Very close to JR Akihabara Stat, 3-5walk. Take Akihabara Electric Town exit and take Atre 1 exit. They have minimarket at lower level. So many food stall/restaurant. They hotel very chic, simple yet modern. Very clean and comfy room. Strong wifi inside room. The minus is only one, a bit pricey!! Still ok though, consider its location. Very satisfy!!

Staying in Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda

Neighborhood Profile
Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.
