Would not hesitate recommending staying here at all. Bit difficult to find initially - 5 min walk from station Room was clean Room size was reasonable by room size in Japan (2 travelling) Bathroom was clean and tidy (with all amenities provided - toothbrush / shaver / body wash, etc) Location - great for all the usual tourist sightseeing very... Hotels are expensive in Tokyo so Comfort Hotel Kanda is a gem. But if you are on the tall or big size, you're better off skipping this. My group is just average size so Comfort Hotel was fine. It's very clean, they serve a decent breakfast, and the free wifi signal is strong. To get to the hotel, we used... More

Second time here! A bit over $100/night including breakfast! Staff has some English…and is eager to accommodate. Breakfast buffet is very satisfying. Rooms are cozy, but a bit larger than some. Written directions provided for the five minute walk to the hotel are not easy…..however…the tobacco shop clerk used his cell phone to provide a map…. Walk out the EAST... More

Very nice, comfortable stay, clean rooms.quiet environment, complimentary breakfast adds to experience. Only things is rooms are small but thats common in Japan for budget hotel. Also as this hotel is in main area, to maintain privacy you should not open window curtains.

We picked the Comfort Hotel in Kanda for the price and location, and it did not disappoint. It is close to Kanda subway station on the busy Ginza line, so it is easy and dirt cheap to get around Tokyo. The room was very small but adequate, clean and had all the necessary amenities. The included breakfast buffet was good... More

We picked Comfort Hotel Tokyo Kanda for short stay in Tokyo. The hotel didn't disappoint us. Now, let me explain our needs first as it may not be the same with yours. We want a hotel where we don't have to spend a lot money. Checked! The hotel should be somewhat centrally located and closed to a subway station. Checked... More

This was the first hotel we stayed at in Tokyo during our 2 week vacation in Japan. The hotel was less than 10 minute walk from the JR Kanda station and about a 10 minute walk from the JR Akihabara station. It was convenient for us to catch the Tsukuba Express from the Akihabara station to visit relatives as well.... More

I will stay here the next time I am in Tokyo, because the staff was incredibly helpful. I made a mess of my reservation, making two by mistake, but the Comfort Hotel people fixed things and cancelled the charge for the second room. Beyond that, the room was clean and quiet, the breakfast buffet good, the wifi free and fast,... More

This was a very simple but comfortable room near the Kanda station in Tokyo. The beds were comfortable and it had some nice pillows to choose from. The breakfast spread was average but had some nice options for the non-Japanese traveler. It had a small closet and bathroom but was a nice option for the sightseer that doesn't stay in... More

Location is perfect: Kanda station is just 5 minutes away (Tokio central station is the next stop in the Yamamote line) Prize is good considering other options and the quality of the hotel. We stayed here twice, therefore in two different rooms: one was big enough, the other one was smaller (maybe too small but we were there only one... More

Staying in Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda

Neighborhood Profile
Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.
