Please note: this is a somewhat detailed review. This is a great little place and worth the money at about $110 dollars a night. About 10 minutes' walk from Hongo San-Chome subway station, provided you have light luggage. If you don't feel like hiking - the sidewalk is uneven - a cab from the station would probably run you about... More

I was very pleased with Ryokan Tsutaya. Especially the warm welcome! Incredible! I was a bit afraid because we were with our baby and we had a very long trip from Belgium to Japan. My sister and I stayed at this lovely ryokan in the Ueno area, and we loved it. The establishment was nicely deocorated and came with clean and all the amenities you need.
