I love to explore a city on foot, and arriving at this hotel I already got a bad feeling along the long drive from the entrance to the hotel lobby. The staff and reception area are immaculate, the elevator lobby is beautiful green marble, which make open lift doors difficult to see. Staff were excellent and helpful. Anyway, why 3... More

One would not go wrong choosing Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo. Starting from prior to arrival, various departments and members of the staff went out of their way to answer our queries - ranging from transportation, hotel booking, etc. All these communications even happened before I committed to staying there. First grade service throughout! The photos found here do not do justice... More

This hotel is brilliant in every way, location is good the staff a brilliant and always want to help you! Rooms are big and clean, and great onsite facilities I.e spa and restaurants and bars, and with its own gardens in the city is really nice and peaceful to walk round. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely... More

The Japanese Stone Grill MOKUSHUNDO Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo that is incredibly popular with foreign tourists offer vegetarian and non-alcoholic options. Tucked away in a quiet grove in the garden, Mokushundo serves old-style dishes cooked on hot lava rocks from Mount Fuji, as well as original iron-kettle kaiseki cuisine. The restaurant has an early 20th-century retro appeal. Muslim Friendly or Halal... More

I have stayed here twice this year. Both times the service was excellent. Pros: - Large rooms with a corner window view in every one. Not just large by Japan standards, but large period. - Room service breakfast with toast includes a toaster. - Fast Wifi. - L'Occitane toiletries. Ooh-La-La! - Very comfy bed. Cons: - Restaurants are very pricy.... More

I stayed for three nights on a business trip. This hotel is located in Bunkyo, close to Kanda River, Waseda University and Takushoku University. For most tourists and business travelers it may seem be a bit off the "city center" (e.g. Ginza), but6 is in fact not too far away. The main reason to chose this hotel anyway would be... More

Room was more spacious than what you'd expect from Japanese hotels. Overall decor is classic elegance similar to other hotels in the same category. What made it unique are the lovely gardens connected to the property, offering respite. Dinner at the Japanese restaurant turned out to be especially memorable for the exquisite grilled beef, sashimi, deliciously light tempura and soba.... More

Dear Jaderunner-Sama, Many thanks for your kind review on this site. We are so happy with it, especially with the title. As you mentioned, all our rooms are spacious and even the smallest rooms are already around 45 square meters. We have several restaurants in the hotel and you enjoyed the Japanese restaurant Miyuki. Hotel Chinzanso is not 'central' to Tokyo. I was there for 4 nights this May and needed to get to and from Shimbashi. For the 25 minute cab ride or 20 minute train journey it was worth being in the peaceful setting. The room itself was large, well appointed and very well maintained. The decor of the hotel is a... I live in Tokyo, but am here for a business meeting for 2 days. Decided to stay at the hotel because the location is not very convenient -- even for living in Tokyo. Staying in Ikebukuro

Neighborhood Profile
Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.
