We spent 3 nights at Killawasi and 1 night hiking in the canyon in between. We booked the large room with the king size bed. The room was large, clean and comfortable with very modern facilities despite the remote location. We had a veranda with a beautiful view overlooking the valley and mountains. Guillermo, the owner, was excellent. He arranged... More

We booked a 2 day group Colca Canyon tour from our hotel in Arequipa, and selected this hotel from a list of included properties in this town (Yanque) and nearby Chivay. We were the only ones from our group to select a hotel in Yanque (the rest all chose properties in Chivay) but after seeing the hotels in Chivay and... More

We splurged out and got a Junior Suite which overlooked the valley and mountains. It was very comfortable and had a verandah outside to sit and enjoy a drink while gazing at the view. Although the plastic roof was a bit low and hot to sit under during the day. The room was nice and clean, had a safe and... More

Yanque is a small town next to Chivay and there really isn't much in the town itself. This hotel/lodge is the by far the nicest in both Yanque and Chivay. I traveled with a group of family and friends and stayed overnight to see Colca Canyon. We loved our rooms! It was super clean, well appointment and very comfortable. We... More

Yanquay is a very small town near the Colca Canyon. We used this hotel alongside a Colonial Tours trip from Arequipa so we were dropped off late afternoon and picked up again at 6.30 am. After being dropped off we had a 3-hour walk to the Inca ruins at Oyu Oyu with the hotel’s tour guide, Freddy. He was really... More

Beautiful setting in the canyon with great views. Sun comes over the mountain early and bathes the place in light. Absolutely lovely staff. Highlight for us was the free hike accompanied by Freddy who is friendly, very caring about his local culture and environment, knowledgeable and able to communicate this in several languages (Spanish, English, French, Italian, Quechua), patient and... We travelled from Puno To Arequipa with a stopover in Colca Canyon in the town of Yanque at the Killawasi Lodge. Our goal was to see the condors flying. My husband particularly chose it because of its high rating on trip advisor. We were not disappointed! Our room was No. 7 upstairs. It was a large comfortable room, overlooking the... More

Finally took the plunge to travel somewhere else than work in Lima and spent a weekend in Arequipa, Peru. A side trip is to Calco Canyon, which is an interesting place to see Condors and the canyon which is pre Inca. This hotel is situated near major town but itself is in a small village. The view is beautiful, the... More

We stayed at the Killawasi Lodge during Christmas and it was just perfect. We initially booked a room including pick-up and drop-off in Arequipa, but because of a sudden change in travel plans we wanted to change the drop-off location to Puno very last minute. This was not a problem and everything was arranged by the hotel as smoothly as... More

This was a very pleasant surprise during our trip. Killawasi Lodge is located in a small village in the middle of nowhere. It was not our first choice so I was not expecting a lot.
