My boyfriend surprised me by taking my here for the end of our Nicaragua/Costa Rica trip. And I am glad it is the last place we stayed because the expectations of every other place would have been way too high. The rates are extremely reasonable for the location, the cleanliness of the rooms and the service provided. The owner is... More

The Scorpion, whose motto is "bad roads bring good people," has a laid back, unassuming atmoshpere and the freshest food that I've enjoyed on vacation anywhere. The fantastic hospitality of the staff was second to none as was the fresh sushi, steak, fish tacos, and homemade ice cream. We stayed at the Scorpion's cabinas adjacent to the restaurant and everything... More

We just returned this morning at 4 a.m., after 24 hours of stand-by traveling, to get back to our beloved snowy-cold Vermont home and warm-fuzzy pets... and seriously talked about getting back in the car, driving to Montreal, hopping a plane, and returning to The Flying Scorpion the same day. We just had the Best Vacation Ever, and that is... More

Great freshly prepared meals that use mostly native and locally acquired ingredients- from fresh fish to ripe tasty fruits. Need help ask Rossi, need tips on where to surf- ask Rossi, have a special need- Rossi seeks a solution. In a jam- definetly seek him out. Baseball - you bet , join the team each Saturday. Kick back and enjoy... More

This is the coolest place i have ever traveled to. The rooms were great, and hot water was a great change. The staff are the absolute best, and willing to do anything for you. Food was amazing, never have i had such fresh meals everyday. I love the fact that the kitchen dose no prep a head of time making... More

I've been to a lot of places in Central America and I had long discarded the idea that any place like The Flying Scorpion still existed in Costa Rica but there it is! Gorgeous, secluded beach, great intimate atmosphere that makes you feel more at home than at a hotel and staff that will make sure your stay there is... More

The good: the staff will bend over backwards to do what they can for you. Being that this place is in the middle of nowhere, you have miles of beach that will be to yourself. If you are looking for a place where the only thing you do is wake up, eat, walk 30 seconds to your quite literal own... More

Th rooms are old and have no character this place is overated. The restaurnat is OK but the menu is nonexistent. Sushi is good but the pasta dishes were very disappointing. I had read the past reviews and again was very disappointed with what I saw and experienced. Go some place else this may have been good place some time... More

The Flying Scorpion was as close to the perfect secluded beach as we could possibly imagine. Besides spending the afternoon hanging out in the hammocks on the beach and petting the 6 dogs who live there, the hotel also offers trips and adventures including ziplines, snorkeling, surfing, and even a butterfly garden trip. The sunset was to die for and... More

The dirt road will be an afterthought almost instantly. Drop your bags off in your cozy cabina, find your way to the bar for a cold Imperial or a blended tropical masterpiece, then cross the street for a walk on the beach. Dig your toes in the sand or nestle into one of the many hammocks... There's PLENTY of elbow... More
