We have just returned from 4 nights at the Kingfisher Retreat, and it was a real retreat. Accommodation excellent, Chrissy & Martyn couldn't do more to make us welcome and feel at home. Nice & quiet, lovely garden and pond, step outside and you're straight into the New Forest. Hope to visit again as so much to visit in the... More

5th visit. Every time just gets better. Standards continuously maintained and improved which is impressive as how do you improve perfection. Everything is better than you could ever wish it to be. House and grounds are beautiful and Chrissy and Martyn are wonderful hosts. Thank you to you both and here's looking forward to many more.

Last weekend my wife & I made our 2nd visit to this excellent b&b, this time going with 2 friends. We've stayed in many b& b's over the years (not just in the UK but also USA, South Africa, New Zealand & Australia) and the Kingfisher Retreat is right up there with the very best of them. It is set... More

Thank you Victor, once again it was a great pleasure to welcome you here with your two lovely friends. Many of our guests have commented on how much they have enjoyed dining at the George, good food, great setting and a friendly atmosphere. Our guests last night praised it highly especially the chocolate and peanut butter cheesecake, wow!! Chrissy and... More

We can not recommend this bed and breakfast enough, not only was the accommodation itself stunning, the location was idyllic. Chrissy and Martyn were superb hosts who really went above and beyond what was expected. Chrissy even offered to drive us to a restaurant to enable us both to enjoy a glass of wine if we wanted, never experienced such... More

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us, it clearly makes it a pleasure for us when our efforts are appreciated. Unfortunately under New Forest National Park planning rules we are not allowed to let the lodges as "Self Catering with Cooking Facilities" but only on a B&B basis. To give our guests the greatest flexibilty that we... More

Martyn and Chrissy could not be more welcoming. The house and the grounds are outstanding. It is a beautiful place perfectly placed for seeing the new forest. The walk to Fordingbridge is do-able at around 40 mins, but I wouldn't want to do it in reverse so suggest a cab back! The grounds are peaceful and you are welcome to... More

This was our fourth time of staying in this most idyllic, charming place, and it just gets better with each visit. We have always stayed in the Gardeners Lodge (which is delightful), however, Martyn did show us the Chaffeurs Lodge which is beautiful. Chrissy and Martyn always make you feel so welcome (also Chrissys mum who is so lovely). It is... More

My boyfriend and I had a fantastic time at Martyn and Chrissy's hideaway. The Gardener's Lodge looks unassuming from the outside but is a perfectly self-contained bedroom and en-suite: clean, cosy and inviting with the obvious benefit of privacy away from the main house. It is small so if you're aiming to spend a lot of time inside, perhaps one of... More

This accommodation was right up my street - a little lodge with its own front door, completely detached, wonderfully private with outstanding views of the lake. I couldn't have chosen anywhere better. The interior was beautifully furnished and freshly decorated. The location was ideal and we enjoyed a brisk 4.5 mile forest walk to the quaintest little pub with log... More
