We stayed for 4 nights and were really impressed with our cabin, it was cosy, comfortable & had everything we needed. People whingeing about the lack of towels should maybe have read their booking confirmation where it said towels weren't included. The setting of Sandy Balls is lovely, it's just a shame that the restaurant and inn are a bit... More

We paid over £600 for a two bedroom lodge during the Easter school holidays. On arrival the park looks attractive and the woodland setting is very peaceful. Our lodge was basic but looked clean and smelt fresh. On closer inspection I was pleased that I took some antibacterial cleaner for the toilet! The lodge was comfortable and cosy but to... More

Northfield Touring pitch: Good: - Swimming pool size and idea of booking system - avoids overcrowding - Pizza restaurant - beware Scotch Bonnet peppers on the hot pizzas - Activities - Archery, Falconry, Kids entertainer, play park - excellent for families - Shop - food, supplies and toys. - Most of the staff were very polite and helpful. - Cleanliness... Just returned from a 4 night break during Easter, this was our first stay at Sandy Balls and was surprised by how lovely everything was after reading some reviews. The checking in process was straightforward, turned up confirmed my details and handed a key and a map and off we went. Our lodge was at the far edge of the... More

Location. Although on the edge if the New Forest you have easy access to some great walks and cycle trails. Accommodation. We stayed in a lodge with two 4 yr olds. Quality was good with only a few minor niggles (no welcome pack avail, bit of mould around showers and curtains and very noisy boiler) but overall happy with our... More

I've just returned from a trip to Sandy Balls. We stayed in an Oak Lodge for 4 nights. The staff in the shop, Woodland Inn, Take Away were all very pleasant and helpful. We didn't meet any member of staff who wasn't wanting to help or answer questions - they were most accommodating. We found the shop - like other... More

Stayed in a Hazel lodge absolutely ideal for 2 people, way beyond my expectations. Clean, compact and extremely warm. Facilities were good, onsite shop had everything and not overpriced. Woodsuite Inn again excellent food way beyond my expectations and drinks not overpriced. Even provided with a live band Deep Red which were very good again much too my surprise. Went... More

We visited this site after reading the feedback and it was a mixed bag ... Our booking e mail told us to drive onto the site and stay in our vehicle where we would be told where to go etc. We waited a few minutes and realised no one was coming out. Went into the reception building and advised we... More

We went for weekend in a lodge with a spectacular view. The quality of the most basic lodge which we stayed in is still as good as you would expect from a site like this. The hire bikes are of high quality and the areas to cycle on and off site are nice scenic routes. The pool is nice and... More

Over priced. Lodge nice but pretty basic .. Cleaners could have done a better job.. Windows filthy .. Microwave rank...paid £260 for a weekend & no towels!! You'd think they would provide a hand towel & soap in bathroom at least! But no... No sachets of shampoo soap or otherwise... Very disappointed...
