We visited The Royal Oak as a consequence of its Trip Advisor reputation and upon arrival, we were immediately drawn to its welcoming, appealing building next to a beautiful medieval church. The owner (at least I assumed that she was the owner) was extremely welcoming. I ordered the burger, which upon ordering, was offered with cheddar or blue cheese- a... More

IGNORE PREVIOUS BAD REVIEWS! NOW UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT. My wife and I found the Royal Oak by chance and WHAT a find. The food was excellently prepared and cooked. It was presented as if we were in a Michelin star restaurant and we could not fault it. It was reasonably priced and NO SERVICE CHARGE was added. The tip we... More

Small but super menu with a lot of local ingredients, all very well cooked. Great service and a nice atmosphere. Brownies were delicious! Would definitely go back and recommend it if you are in the area.

We spent one night at The Royal Oak in Brookland the past weekend with a couple of friends. Assoon as you enter the pub, you feel the warm atmosphere, itisreally very cosy. Our room, Walland was very spacious, clean and well equiped: goodquality shower thingies, towels and wonderful twin boxsprings with super duvet. The redecorating has been done very tastefully,... We booked for 1 night as a stop-over on the way back from France before the drive home next day. On arrival around 7pm after a long day driving my wife tried to have a bath and I went for the shower but there was no hot water to our room (it was partially fixed later that evening but a... More

The first thing you notice when you walk in the door, is the friendly greeting and the warm environment that make up The Royal Oak. The rooms are clean and well decorated and the view of the surrounding countryside is very nice. If you get the chance, take in the Wednesday Evening Spit Roast Night, but make sure to make... More

We were guests at The Royal Oak, staying 2 nights in the Burmarsh Room. My wife and I could not fault any aspect of our stay. It was the perfect countryside retreat and one of Kent's best kept secrets. Owners David Rice-Jones and glamourous wife Savannah were wonderful fun hosts and made us feel extremely welcomed; nothing was too much... More
