I write for both myself and on behalf of our friends who stayed at the hotel in August. Our large group enjoyed a delicious evening meal of regional produce served in the cosy, candlelit dining room. We ended the evening with heavenly desserts of chocolate torte and the lightest of cheesecakes (and a song!). Our friends loved the beautiful French... More

Nedde is a quiet village in the middle of nowhere, or in a wonderfully green, wooded, unspoiled part of Limousin, depending on how you look at it. It is conveniently placed for a visit to the Lac de Vassivieres and the outdoor sculpture park there. The Hotel Le Verrou is a sturdy building right on the main street (and because... More

If your the type of person that likes beautiful quiet country like surroundings, quaint small old traditional villages, with the church bells chiming the hour every hour, and with many hikes to do near by then Nedde is the place for you. Le Verrou, the only small hotel in Nedde, is beautiful and charming, with clearly attention to detail throughout... More

Nedde is a charming village from where one can take superb walks in the Limousin. L'hôtel du Verrou is charming, quiet, simple yet comfortable. Brigitte and Julia are warm and welcoming, and I don't just say this because they are good friends. Scrumptuous family fare!

My wife and our two young children had a lovely time at Le Verrou in Nedde in the midst of the remote, rural, green fields and forests of the Haute Vienne. The hotel is beautifully set out in every respect, with stylish decoration throughout. The very comfortable, bright bedrooms are lovingly decorated in calming greys and greens, with old wooden... I spent a week at this lovely hotel with my husband and 2 further couples were also in our small group travelling around France together in our MG's. We had been recommended to stay here and we were very glad we had heard about it because it was an absolute delight. Brigitte and Julia could not have looked after us... More

At long last there is a restaurant in this gorgeous "hidden" part of the foothills of the Massif Central well worth a detour. Julia, who speaks some English and fluent German &, of course, French, cooks and greets the guests in the delightful Hotel. Although we did not stay there this time, we did have a tour of the bedrooms,... More
