Just returned for a one night stay. We took advantage of the Summer Special so very reasonably priced and included 25 min treatment. As many have mentioned already the staff are very professional and attentive, although more staff are needed at the bar/restaurant at busy times....Food was good. Grounds are fabulous...treatments are lush...relaxation room just that....Yes lack of A/c in... More

My husband and I have just returned from a fantastic stay at Lifehouse and are already planning to return later in the year! It was so handy to be picked up and dropped off at the train station by Oliver, who was very friendly on the drive and when checking us in and directing us to our room and all... More

We stayed 2 nights for my girlfriends birthday and packed the middle day with treatments. SHE LOVED IT! I enjoyed walking in the amazing gardens, they are so well kept and steeped with history; it feels as though you have stepped back to the 1930s. The treatments were very reasonably priced, the dinner was exceptional, the service was fast and... More

PROS: Staff couldn't have been more efficient, friendly or helpful. Therapists very good indeed as were the treatments. Food was outstanding and good choice. Public areas were spacious and modern. Beautiful landscaped gardens, very tranquil with lots of places to sit. Room were reasonable size and clean. CONS: Bar staff are rushed and the wait is long, too many doing different... More

My wife and I stayed at Lifehouse for three nights. The spa facilities are wonderfully relaxing and the hotel has very beautiful gardens. The hotel is well located as its minutes away from Clacton on sea and Frinton on sea. The beach in Frinton is nicer. Would recommend the hotel and we are looking forward to another visit ourselves.

Stayed for one night on our wedding anniversary. Modern building but historic peaceful gardens which were lovely and relaxing to walk round. Pools and steam rooms were fine but quite basic. We did not have time for any treatments. Modern restaurant with not much atmosphere but dinner and breakfast were very good.

Fantastic all round. Staff very friendly and professional. Room perfect clean comfortable and quite. Outstanding grounds and spa facilities great. Only suggestion is restrant could have a few more options on its evening menu if you want something a bit plan. But what we did have was great. Breakfast very good apart from slow toaster. 10 out of 10 in... More

Set in beautiful gardens and lake, so very peaceful. Rooms a bit on the small size, we had a garden twin room but no climate control. It want as though it was a hot day. As this was a modern development we expected this at the very least. Room was hot and airless, you have a tilting door/window but with... More

I may have been spoit by previous spas i have visited but this seemed to have lots of land and space, however not so much to do. The pool area was lovely and there were lots of treatment rooms. The food in the bar area was rather limited to sandwiches or an expensive afternoon tea (including sandwiches!!) and I wasn't... More

Visited with a good friend and stayed in a garden room which was delightful as the weather was quite warm. Food was fine, service was lovely - the staff were friendly and helpful. Organisation was a bit hit-and-miss. We waited in one room for an exercise class then found it had been moved without anyone saying. Treatments were first class... More
