A very nice small family-run hotel with an outstanding restaurant. We had a spacious, comfortable, quiet room. The bathroom was roomy with good counter space. There was a good hot and cold breakfast with homemade pastries in a pleasant room. The garden area in back was a pleasant place to relax after a day of touring. The swimming pool is... More

A lovely restaurant with great food and a huge wine list, coupled with a lovely refreshing pool and garden, set in some brilliant countryside with fantastic villages nearby to visit and run by a lovely couple with some great staff. A must for cyclists too as there is nothing better than returning from an awesome ride, to jump in the... More

We stayed here for two nights after our walking tour of the Barolo trail. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The garden and pool in the back were great. The food, however was absolutely magnificent!... Returning to our bedroom after dinner to find the beds turned down, a chocolate on the pillows and a note from our host, was quite... More

Master Chef Carlos Zarri and family made us feel so welcomed into their home. The food was incredible along with each wine selection. The Villa San Carlos staff was warm and took great pride in serving us. I know I will return someday soon.

I had expected our group visit this June 2013 to the Villa San Carlo to be astoundingly great, but it way exceeded all expectations. Carlo Zarri, superb chef, and his delightful wife, Paola, sommeliere, welcomed our group with open arms. The cuisine was world class, the rooms were spacious and well appointed and the area of Le Langhe is lush... More

The warmth and friendly hospitality of the Family Zarri was evident throughout my four night stay at the picturesque Hotel Ristorante Villa San Carlo. The hand-written welcome note on the desk after dinner on the first evening was just the beginning of the continued thoughtfulness and attention to detail I experienced during my stay. My clean & comfortable room was... More

As part of the food and wine tour group who recently stayed 4 nights in Cortemilia (hazelnut capital of the world), I cannot say enough about the warmth and ambience of Villa San Carlo. Chef Carlo and Paola Zarri were the perfect hosts welcoming our group to their family hotel and restaurant. Each night the wonderful cuisine of the Piedmont... More

Carlo and Paola Zarri have created an intimate atmosphere with their small inn located in Cortemilia, Italy, (Piedmont region). A renowned chef, Carlo prepared five course dinners with various wine pairings each of the four nights we were there. The family is quite lovely, attending to your every need including making arrangements to visit local wineries, farms making cheese, castles,... More

Our family of four spent 4 amazing days at the Villa San Carlo Hotel as part of two week food and wine tour of Northern Italy. Our stay at Villa San Carlo was easily the highlight of the tour. The nightly meals, and matching wines, were spectacular. The proprietor, Carlo Zarri is a renowned chef and his wife Paola a... More
