If you are interested in sustainability, nature, culture or simply want to find a good place to stay with caring people: go to Taselotzin. The food is lovely, the people are really nice and are more than willing to explain and have a conversation with you.

Taselotzin was founded by a cooperative of indigenous women who began to organize 17 years ago to improve their economic conditions and to become aware of their human rights. When you stay at Taselotzin you are supporting them. The hotel is scrupulously clean, with hot showers, and a full range of indigenous "spa" services such as curanderas and sweat lodge.... More

This excellent eco-tourism hotel is run by an indigenous women's cooperative that has helped many indigenous families. I have stayed here several times, once on vacation and other times I take a class of college students. They can accommodate groups very well and can offer excellent workshops on their projects for those groups that are interested.

We just visited Cuetzalan (Dec 12 - 14), after reviewing all the good comments in the website we decided to give a try to this lovely place and we found out that is a good place for a good cause. It is a group of women who have formed a community to preserve and promote the indigenous nahuatl customs, artistic... More

I have stayed at the Taselotzin 20+ times over the past 8 years or so. The rooms in the main part of the hotel are basic and comfy. My family and I stayed in a somewhat newer cabina with a fireplace and jet-tub last time we visited; it was great. The staff keeps the grounds beautiful, and one gets a... More

We stayed in one of the private rooms that they call a "cabana." Our room was in a small building adjoining another room a short distance down the road from the main hotel. Breakfast (not included) was very good; dinner, not so much. The place had a very positive energy from all of the university students who were staying in... More

There are so many great things to say about this hotel. First off, the staff are incredible. They are incredibly kind and really try to ensure visitors are well attended and taken care off. The rooms are perfect and are always clean. They feature beautiful views of the lush and serene garden. At night the crickets serenade you to sleep... More

I've stayed twice here and would highly recommend it. On both of my trips I stayed in the women-only hostel part of the hotel, but I've seen the rooms, too, and they looked quite nice. The hostel has bunk beds, benches for your stuff, and showers. The bathrooms are outside, attached to the outer part of the building. Towels, bedding,... More
