We stayed at Saiaz for 2 nights in a sea view room and as others have said, the view is pretty special. The room was good, but was very slightly dated in its decor, also our air conditioning unit (which we didn't use) showed signs of some sort of recent leak as well as having a panel hanging slightly off... Dear Matt R.: Thank you for your review. I am glad our conversations and advices were helpfull to enjoy your stay in Getaria and the Basque Country. We take good note of your remarks about the room. In fact, we are under works now in most of sea view rooms for regular maintenance. Furthermore, the hotel is closed till next... More

We had thought about staying in San Sebastian, but after reviews here, decided to stay in this fishing village and here at Saiaz Getaria Hotel. Very well worth it to spend a few extra bucks and get an ocean view room. You can open the windows at night and hear the soothing waves all night long. Very clean and comfortable.... More

Very nice accommodations with good beds and bath and bath products. Staff is lovely and very accommodating. And the sound of the surf at night sleeping with the windows wide open is a very special treat. Location is great.

We were in Spain for 6 weeks, and this was one of our favorite hotels. The hotel is so charming, and the staff so helpful, that it spoiled us for the rest of the trip. All their restaurant locations, and suggestions were perfect. They even had a lady who did your laundry for 10 Euro a load; dried and folded.... More

We stayed here in October and had a wonderful experience. We took a three week vacation to Spain and France and this was by far our favorite hotel. The hotel is perfectly nestled between San Sebastian and Bilboa, and an easy drive to the Rioja wine region. No need to stay anywhere else! The staff was fabulous. We were truly... More

We took the recommendation off Trip Advisor and it was right on the mark. The hotel is run by a young couple who seem to be making sure that every detail is well thought out and attended to. The rooms have a slightly rustic appearance in keeping with the architecture of the Basque countryside, but comfort is in no way... More

From the moment we arrived we were treated like family, nothing was a problem, rooms are spectacular, panoramic views, right in heart of a lovely coastal village with a brilliant little wine bar around the corner that will spoil you every evening. The manager was outstanding !! His advice absolutely spot on. Cozy hotel with access to the camino for... More

Lovely hotel. Great views of the beach from high up and the noise of the surf is brilliant. Old building, but updated with real taste and class and there was a very nice lounge area with a balcony on our floor. Getaria though is a bit of a one day wonder, old and quaint, but dominated by sea food restaurants.... More

It isn't entirely straightforward to find this hotel. We booked it through Brittany Ferries and the directions recommended coming off E70 at junction 12 for Zumaia. In fact, J11 (for Zarautz) is better because then you approach the rather 'interesting' road junction in the centre of Getaria from the best direction. Go straight through the junction and just at the... More

We took a sea view room on the top (3rd) floor and loved it. Not only was the view good, but it was quiet … and the bathroom ceiling had a window that would open to let steam out - very clever in this humid climate. The room was clean, typically European small but with room enough for our stuff.... More
