Hotel in a nice building at the entry of Old Getaria... difficult to find a place to unload the car. Afterwards you can leave it down by the seaside, where the big waves crash on the shore (hotel parking costs 10€). Modern room with plastic orchids, coffee machine and terrace, but no lamp to read by. We haven't visited the... More

The Hotel Itxas was intended as an over-nighter before we hit the Spanish supermarkets to stock up for Christmas. Unfortunately it was tipping down with rain and there were road works on the main road in front of the hotel so we parked down by the port and made our way up through the narrow cobbled streets carrying our over... How is this a 1 star hotel? The rooms are great, the bathrooms well up, the breakfasts on the roof terrace do fresh, fresh orange juice, home made cake, home made tortilla, and all the usual breakfast bits. Sit amongts the family veg pots on the roof and enjoy the meal and view. Son on reception speaks english. Only downside... More

Its the best 1 star hotel we have stayed in. Good value for money, the room was nicely decorated and very clean. Its a family business and everybody was very helpful and pleasant and we had a great view when we were having breakfast. Excellent.

An overnight stay at this small but excellent hotel. A little scary to park but owner soon sorted this enabling us to check in. No hotel parking but plenty of free parking close by. This is situated over looking the bay. Our room was on front, clean well appointed beds good. The room had a spa bath but didn't use... More

We stayed in this hotel for a week and changed two rooms of witch booth were great. The hotel is much better than what you would expect from the photos. Rooms are clean and spacious and well equipped. I preferred the superior room, especially because of the amazing balcony with a stunning view. The owners of the hotel are more... More

We stayed here in an emergency when our touring campervan broke down - 3 nights of comfort and breakfasts overlooking the breaking surf. Our bedroom balcony overlooked a busy street but the traffic never spoilt our sleep. Most importantly, the family owners went out of their way to help us, phoning garage, sending emails, translating (very good English spoken by... More

Stayed for 3 nights, super helpful friendly family run, fabulous surprise was the terrace overlooking the surf beach which we had to ourselves. Free parking in 2 streets across the main road but can drive up to front door to unload. Right on the edge of the old town centre but everywhere is within 5 mins walk in this small,... More

Whereas in the old part of Guetaria (great city), the hotel is super uncomfortable to access. Good luck with your luggage and parking the car in the summer. Avoid rooms facing Ouest (the ocean) in case of bad weather, you will have to be locked in. There are much better options

Just back from a European tour and started with 4 nights here in June. Lovely family who run the hotel and bend over backwards to help. Our highlight was the fantastic view from the breakfast area, over a bay, almost perched on a cliff edge. The home made cake at breakfast was really tasty, first time ever I've had cake... More
