if this former convent was home to nuns sworn to silence this was it. The hotel is clean and quite comfortable. Despite other comments we found the breakfast quite good when compared with the price paid. At dinner however it was silent. A few other tables eating ( start time 21.00) and apart from the obligatory chat with friendly and... More

Chose this hotel as a stop over enroute back to France from Portugal. Set up the hill dominating the town which spans the river. A restored Monestry, part hotel and part school with delightful central courtyard and cloisters. The room was spartan, adequate for our needs, but overlooked the rear of the building. Warm with good sized shower room, which... More

We stayed here three nights as base to visit the Rioja Region. The hotel is an unusual structure for a hotel which gives a very pleasant feel; the grounds are indeed delightful to walk around and the staff were very helpful. We found breakfast to be adequate though not special. We did not eat dinner in the hotel. What is... More

We only spent one night on our way home and it was very nice for the money , the beds are a little hard , breakfast was not bad , dinner was a little disappointing as it was a set menu and normally includes a bottle of wine they only begrudgingly gave us a glass but when pushed he gave... More

Lovely setting in a quiet location, just up the hill from the historic part of town and an easy 5 minute walk down to the main town where there are numerous shops, cafes, bars and a few restaurants (closed on Mondays). The cloister area surrounding a central courtyard was very nice and protected from the elements so it was a... More

We stayed one night in Miranda de Ebro which is a small traditional Spanish town spanning the river. We were there for the Verbena (street dancing) on the Saturday, (also happens on Wednesdays). There are tapas bars around the central square and it is a great experience. The room we had was large and comfortable but the view was of... More

This is a fabulous building in a glorious setting, do explore the gardens behind the hotel, the stations of the cross and the views but it is sadly lacking in enthusiasm to market it properly. Due to the financial crisis it seems to be limping along yet has marvellous decor and is attached to the church and the staff will... More

I was invited there for business purposes. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, the diner has plenty of character, as well as the building itself -it's a monastery. There's a fountain pouring water, perfect for relax. The room was average and no Wi-fi in-suite. However, the overall experience was very positive.

Stopped off here whilst touring the Pyrenees by Motorcycle, what a fab and convienient place to stay. Sat Nav took us to the front door, the hotel is up a hill and looks out over the town - which is Only a five minute walk into the centre. the hotel is a converted Monastery which has been really tastefully done,... This is the third time we have stopped here en route to the Costas Dorada from Bilbao and Santander. It is a beautiful convent converted into a hotel and prices are very reasonable - about 50 Euros a night for 2. Have a wander around the old square, a few meters away and find yourself a Tapas Bar. I shall... More
