We stayed here after a long long walk on the Camino in not so great weather. It was quite heavy rain when we arrived and so we had a drink immediately. The host was fantastic with nothing too much trouble. I was in a small single room on the second floor with my own bathroom with a great shower. The... More

Our party of four stayed in 2 rooms for 1 night during a trip along the Camino de Santiago. We weren't sure what a "micro hostal" was but were looking for something better than albergue. This is it! The building is an old stone townhouse that has been attractively restored. Bedrooms aren't large, but comfortable. The private bathrooms feature stone... More

Great location for pilgrims..... great food, fabulous room with fluffy towels and clean sheets. We hadn't booked or read any reviews and couldnt believe how lovely it was. Lucky us!!!! Glad to see they are recognized for their hard work and interesting room decor. Thank you

We were intrigued by this one, billing itself as a microhostal, and the website was different. What a great experience. We stayed for 2 nights, having a camino rest day here, and were really glad. The restaurant was fantastic, and we actually chose to eat all meals here. The host was excellent and his wife was a great cook. You... More

We began the Camino in this Hostel the last Sunday of September. I couldn’t imagine start better. Herminio, the owner also has done the Camino several times and knows exactly what the pilgrims need. Charming rooms, comfortable beds and of course, a clean and spacious bathroom en-suite. The walls are well decorated with photos and phrases of finishers who inspire... More

I wanted to take a break from the albergues while on the Camino when I came across La Puerta del Perdon. This micro hostal provided a great place to rest and recover, with tasty food and amazing rooms. I really liked that the rooms were themed, and I happened to stay in the "Cristobal Halffter" room, a Spanish composer who... More

This is a fabulous place to stay. All the rooms are themed and spotlessly clean. The woman who owns this place goes above and beyond with the level of subtle details in the rooms and dining area. She even prepared a lovely breakfast for us to take to our rooms at night as we were planning to start walking at... More

After walking the Camino for ten days and staying at plenty hotels, hostels and albuerges I finally found what I was hoping for in this "Micro Hostal"; the high quality of comfort, design, hospitality, location and historical surroundings gave me the spiritual calm and wellbeing I had been looking for all along the road. The rooms are better than shown... More

Walking the Camino requires staying in albergues along the way. Occasionally, you need a good sleep, a hot shower, a shield from your hiker friends snoring and the comforts of privacy. My wife and I found all of this in La Puerta del Perdon. A great little place along the Camino. The room was wonderful - overlooking the castle. It... More

We stayed here on our first night on the Camino, after walking from Ponferrada on 7 September 2012. It's very attractively located, facing the Castillo in Villafranca del Bierzo. The proprietor -- whom we met in the downstairs bar/restaurant -- was welcoming. Our rooms, at the top of the stairs under the roof, were full of character: big in area,... More
